Whenever I watch theory vids on YouTube, and I listen to the creator/narrator say the absolute most batshit things I try to remind myself it's not that they suddenly lost a million IQ points or are arrogant beyond belief -- it's probably on purpose to drive engagement.

I'm talking about things like "absolutely proves", "only explanation", "no one would say/do something like that", and similar phrases in situations where it's only "strengthens the possibility", "provides an explanation", "saying/doing these things would be illogical/go against the character's best interests", and other realities. If the authors of the script really believed their absolutism, they'd be revealing a concerning lack of imagination/critical thinking that usually isn't supported by the rest of the content.

My sibling laughs at me as I rewatch my favourite videos and they hear me chiding the narrator once again as I explain to the screen how actually X, Y, Z invalidates their absolutism. Let's be clear, these videos frequently have mind-blowing insights that I absolutely love, but the overall content is diminished by the algorithm machine that means people are willing to make these batshit claims in order to drive engagement since people love nothing more than to tell someone they're wrong in the comments.

Usually these videos are based on content where absolutism is not possible -- we don't have enough information and there is enough ambiguity that things can logically go several ways, even as people piece together obscure clues. My personal preference for the videos would be the creators treating alternate theories as valid even as they argue that XYZ gives more weight to theory A than 123 gives to theory B.
