Objective and Subjective
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love science, but the very fact, to me, is that science is limited. Not just because we do not know all that happens in the Universe and because of the fact that science is an observation of the Universe and not the Universe itself (it is not the Universe, it is an observation of the Universe, which is different, and don't get me started on that thought, lol), but because science deals with what it deems as facts only. It does not deal with the subjective nature of Reality that we all experience every day. It does not deal with those in between states, those liminal states and spaces of the paradoxes of something being both objective and subjective, and, even, that liminal and paradoxical state between the what is perceived to be objective and the what is perceived to be subjective natures, categories and definitions, themselves. Science only deals with what it can measure and observe with the mind.
The very fact of a subjective experience being a kind of a real thing that all people experience somehow, IS a paradox in and of itself, as that paradox goes beyond the categories and definitions of the objective and the subjective experiences themselves, in this case, it is neither an objective thing NOR a subjective thing, really, if we actually all experience both objective things and subjective things, then really, it becomes a paradox to state the subjective nature is a real thing we all experience, as that is an objective fact about a thing that is subjective by its own nature. Sometimes, Reality transcends beyond the labels of objective or subjective, it can be both, or neither, or if you only see one side, one or the other, even, it could be all of these things, or none of these things, too. It depends on how you perceive. None are wrong ways to perceive any thing when outside the bounds of the categories of objective and subjective, and really, that is where science is actually limited. I love science, but I just understand its limits. Please don't get me started on the subjective nature of the individual perceptions, perspectives and mind, itself, either, lol… but to put it in a short sentence, all we perceive is a projection of our own mind, so of course it has its limits, science is limited for the fact of not being able to see outside of our own dissecting, separating, analysing and limited minds. I don’t know if this makes any sense, but, to put it into a concept, I am just someone who sees the “grey” areas in life, instead of just what is defined as “black” and “white”.
"Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the alse notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." -- Isaac Asimov
Saw a post that drove me up the wall recently that went "don't mock people that believe in magic, ghosts and the supernatural! They're very logical people just trying to explain the world to the best of their ability and will change their minds when shown better science!" And it's like, no. I've thought about my beliefs plenty logically and have decided I'd rather live in a world with magic and ghosts in it than one without. Not everything about the Earthly experience can be boiled down to Logic and Reason (tm) and objective truth
My personal narrative isn't putting myself or others in any danger so I will not be changing it to be more palatable to others. Thank you 💛
Something I keep thinking about that I read about narcissists/estranged parent groups was how, for them, emotions create their reality instead of their emotions being a reaction to reality. Like, if I feel attacked, then I must be being attacked - you are attacking me. If I feel neglected, then you must be neglecting me. And instead of questioning whether or not their feelings are appropriate to the situation (am I actually being attacked or am I just receiving feedback on my behavior that I don't like?), the feeling itself is proof of veracity (how could I possibly feel attacked if I weren't actually being attacked?). This is part of why proof and evidence are disregarded.
(obviously I think this explains A LOT about current American society)

Like this shell. It is beautiful but is not perfectly symmetric in shape.
