Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of Link having the triforce of courage? Im not saying having Zelda being the main character is bad, hell, Id play that game to death, but isnt the point of Link having the triforce of courage, and the spirit of the hero because hes a main character? If they did a game where Zelda breaks out of Ganon's clutches and meets Link, playing as both characters to show how they both have positive characteristics, thatd be awesome! Teaming up to solve puzzles as A team.
“Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of Link having the triforce of courage” for all we know, story wise, if Ganondorf imprisons Link, it simply means that he’s subdued and immobilized him, and Link can’t escape without outside aid??? Also it’s not like Link wouldn’t be using his willpower to fight back against his prison or something like that (I know I said Link can be useless in a game where Zelda is a protagonist, but there’s also lots of unexplored creativity in terms of how he’s biding his time as Ganondorf’s prisoner)
Also, puzzle solving is Wisdom at its finest tho, isn’t it?????? Link can be a main character the same way Zelda has always been. It’s just a matter of exploring the changes in roles by shifting the characters around.
Also a Zelda-centric Zelda game wouldn’t have to have Zelda fighting all the time. It could be focused around her using stealth and tactics to achieve objectives (ie: sneaking around as Sheik) or cleverly stealing items so that she can meet goal (ie: plundering and seafaring as Tetra) Other stuff like that. Like, we know that Zelda CAN fight too, but maybe she has limitations compared to Link. She can’t gain more HP or strength, like he does, so she’s given blessings and skills through other means when she’s earned them???
Also what about a story mechanic like recruiting the aid of the dormant Sages while journeying to find Link and save him??? They are VERY difficult to find (for obvious reasons) and through completing certain quests and objectives, you can earn their trust for them to lend their power
Your idea is well and fine, but suggesting that Link’s courage is moot because he can’t fight and stuff (not right away in such a game) is [Just as limiting and narrow as what LoZ’s producer said]
Ya gotta think outside the box. That’s the whole point of creativity and art. And Video Games are still an intricate art.
