#submission question

Do you still accept oneshots and imagines and things written by others? I have some Marvel things written that I want to share, but no one to read them. They’re not exactly fall/autumn/halloween-based though, so I wasn’t sure... Sorry to bother you

I always accept submissions from other writers, though they are rarely submitted. That is granted they follow certain guidelines :) I answered an ask more specifically about that here if you’d like to read it :)

Once Halloween is over I will not be posting strictly Halloween and Autumn themed posts anymore, so you wouldn’t have to worry about that! :)

Writing tips

Any tips on writing? I have a fic in my head I want out properly.

Sure! Here are some of my suggestions:

1. Outlines are your friend. It’s so much easier to look at a list and see the points you want to hit than try and remember them at the moment. You can always add and take away.

2. Don’t stress about chapter length. I write hefty chapters, some of my favorite FF writers have chapters half the size of mine. It’s all subjective – as long as you accomplished what you wanted to, it’s fine!

3. Don’t be afraid of rewrites! Once you hit submit, things aren’t written in stone. If you re-read a scene you hate, go back and change it! It makes you feel a lot better lmao

4. Jot down little things on your phone. Whether it’s a dialogue exchange or a scene idea, I like to make little notes that I can fall back on that sometimes pop into my head.

5. Just have fun with it! Don’t stress over something that should be a nice creative output/hobby. 

That’s all I can think of! Of course, I’m not some writing pro lmao – just go with what your gut tells you!! Develop a style and throw out the rules, do what makes you happy!

I notice a lot of people amending their summaries even after submitting. I feel like that's not very fair? I waited till I was sure what my summary would be before submitting. But now I see people can submit early to get a good position and then keep refining it up till claims. Are the mods going to reorder the slides to be fair to people like me who submit a final version but end up near the back? Like if someone submits an amendment, then they go to the back of the queue? Thanks

We don’t believe this is what people have been doing - they’re updating summaries or added tags because things have progressed in their stories the way they hadn’t been expecting, or hadn’t planned for. The small handful of people that have contacted us directly have all been in this situation.

We do appreciate your concerns. All artists will be given a whole week to review the submissions, and are expected to look through all of them equally (unless of course something squicks or triggers them!) and decide which work(s) they wish to claim based on that. We truly don’t believe the location in the slideshow matters when it comes to artists finding fics they wish to claim.

However, we can also assure you that not even half of the authors have submitted yet, so as long as you have submitted already you will be in the early sections of the slideshow, if this is your worry.

Reply to a submission post/question I got about the reason reylo has been the top ship on tumblr for about a month. 

I don’t like doing the whole screenshot thing, that’s why I’m replying like this rather than posting the submission which included a snapshot of twitter users talking. Hope you don’t mind Anon. Basically, the screenshot was of a discussion on Mark’s latest reylo tweets, asking what reylo was. Someone said the only reason that tumblrs ranked reylo number one for the past month is due to the amount of people hating on it.

is this true? i dont have tumblr? hated ship or people like it and thats why its no1?

There is a fair amount of hate on tumblr for the ship but they’re being rather arrogant to assume that’s the reason we’ve gotten out ship up to number one. There isn’t as many of them as they’d like to think,. 

Just look at the posts in the tags. Reylo posts get huge amounts of notes, filled to the brim with love and positive discussions. The Last Jedi was only recently released and after two long years of theorising and waiting we got treated with so much more reylo scenes than we ever could have hoped for. We’re excited and renewed with energy and because of that we’ve been producing hundreds of new reylo content. That’s why we’ve been hitting number one on tumblr’s ship posts. 

Anti posts in comparison barely get a few dozen notes. The ones that get loads are from popular blogs so they tend to get more people seeing it, but you’ll also find lots of reylo shippers defending the ship on those posts.

I really like the parties you host, but I really want to know is the aftermath of it the following morning. I was wondering if we, your followers, could submit art for it. I have some ideas of could have happened: How is there red cups on the ceiling fan? Why is that person duct taped to the chair? Where are my pants?Who mummy wrapped this skeleton with party streamers? Why is the bathtub filled with water balloon condoms.

Edge’s room is trashed, Burgerpants is the one duct taped to the chair, Grillby’s lost his shirt, there’s three massive holes in the ceilings, and the kitchen may or may not have been set on fire at some point.
