They have always said that the road to hell was paved with good intentions, but they never consider whether the road from it was made of the same stuff. For her, freedom was a first-class ticket to indefinite punishment, sent to anguish away in a rancid sea for the sin of complacency she made in her mortal life. She was content to see through the rest of her existence that way, until one day, she woke up.
There have been countless upon countless like her spanning across all of time—but there were very, very few just like them. And they made it. Somehow, against all odds; despite everything; in defiance of the tipping scales of fate; they actually made it.
She did not remember much after Hell. She remembered witnessing destruction and unbridled terror and the great rage that burned so hot it burst forth from her chest as a war cry erupted from her—and then the light. It permeated so brightly it pierced through her fractured soul and melded it whole again.
She had purpose again. She knew exactly what she had to do.
And it was her destiny to kill him.

A gust of wind rustled the tall grass around her. The sensation of something poking at her face curiously roused her awake to another blinding light, which she instinctively blocked with a hand over her eyes until she regained her better faculties.
As her vision adjusted, she eventually realized she was watching a sun being slowly blocked out by large, fluffy white clouds hanging from a crystal blue sky. She grimaced at the sight, unused to the light and believing she was seeing yet another vision. She tilted her head up this way, and that to look around. This place was not familiar… It wasn’t where she died. She wasn’t still in Otherworld somehow, was she? Had it all been some terrible dream…?
Then she briefly inspected herself. A gloved hand felt all over her torso, even across the small empty recess in her armor where she had been blasted through the chest. Finding that remnant from her past life made all of it far too real.
Finally, her eyes opened. She sat up suddenly, startling some kind of raptor with pink feathers away from its inspection of her. Her head swam, but things were finally starting to come back to her. She remembered she hadn’t been alone and began to search, turning her torso from where she remained on the ground. She spotted more of the raptors grazing quietly in the rolling pasture she found herself in, but no sign of…
“Raditz?”
