Many believe that dragonflies, like butterflies, are signs from our loved ones who have passed on. It is said that when a dragonfly hovers close, it is someone we miss, letting us know that they are still with us. There are so many beautiful stories about the symbolism of dragonflies that I can't list them all here. Beautiful and delicate, even without legends and symbolism, dragonflies are amazing just for themselves. We lost our youngest son to fentanyl poisoning in 2017. In withdrawal from heroin, he relapsed and it proved fatal. Ours is a story shared by tens of thousands of families across the country. Since that awful day I've been trying to find a way to channel my grief, heartbreak and anger. The best way for me was to find organizations that work to support addicts in recovery and their families. If I can help keep one more addict from dying, one more family from living with this heartbreak, then there is a bit of joy in the pain. In honor of my son I've created these purple crystal beauties. I will be donating 30% of each sale to . HeroinSupport.org, a group that not only helps addicts and their families with recovery, but offers support to families like mine, who have lost someone to the disease of addiction. One of the ways they do this is by supplying cremation urns for families that can't afford one. Each dragonfly comes in a gift box with a tag as shown in the last photo. Each one is different, so use the drop down box to choose the letter. Right now my supplies are limited, so each dragonfly is one of a kind; this will change in the future. Each dragonfly is created using 20 and 24 gauge wire and variety of beads and crystals. They each measure about 3.5 -4 inches in length, though some might be a bit longer. Each one is different, so use the drop down box to choose the letter. Right now my supplies are limited, so each dragonfly is one of a kind; this will change in the future.
