finally finished the wife! After like 4 years lol (I'm slowly working my way through all the Sith Gods Pantheon for my Subterfugeverse timeline so have another!)
Chirikyât's wife and the mother of its twins, Wuraiana and Jiaasjen. More hot-tempered than her spouse, it often has to hold her back or reel her in from snapping at Sith who get on her nerves. Wirhaziya is the goddess of Life and Fertility, the patron goddess of House Saal (Aria's family uvu) and a minor patron of House Ahaszaai (her spouse Chirikyât being House Ahaszaai's Patron God). More in-depth info and typed transcription of the hand-written notes on the ref below the readmore if y'all find that easier to read! :D as with all my headcanons, this post is long I am sorry. My brain enjoys making weird space cryptids and I can't help it lmfao
You can find (temp for now, I haven't filled out her full bio yet!) more info and get a better/higher-rez look at her ref on her Toyhou.se page >HERE< , if you want :D
Mild tw for: spoopy stuff, made-up/fantasy religious polytheism things, eldritch and/or cosmic horror vibes, mention of violence and death sorta, and uhh lmk if you think I need to add others and I will but I thinkkk that covers it??
General/Identity Notes
Wirhaziya aka "Ziya" (pronounced veer-hah-shee-yah & shee-yah, etymology: High Sith for Mother-Life and Life respectively). Also called The Mother (of Life) & Ri Dziutira (High Sith, meaning "The All-Mother")
Agirl (Agender but identifies with some aspect of womanhood, so in Ziya's case motherhood/being a mother). She/Her pronouns
Zildrogg's (older) sister, yes there is ~lore~ there but that will be coming on her brother's ref/post, when I get him done (yes I am working on him rn, no I don't know when I will get him done. I have to take a lot of breaks bc Chronic Illness(tm) so as much as I'd love /gen to just sit down and get it all done in like 3 days or w/e, that's outta my wheelhouse qwq. Just typing all this stuff out for y'all took me several days of doing a lil bit each day to get it all so pls excuse any typos I maybe missed bc my brain is almost Permanently Soup lately lol)
Chirikyât's wife and the mother of its twins, Wuraiana and Jiaasjen.
Patron goddess of House Saal & minor patron of House Ahaszaai along with the rest of her family members. (The Ahaszaai family may or may not be their "pet project" but none of them will ever admit to that in as many words ;3)
I don't label the gods' sexualities explicitly because it's just something I imagine they...don't care about lmao. They're gods and all functionally either agender or some flavour of nonbinary, bio sex is a meaningless thing to them when they can just poof demigod babies into existence if they want, y'know? XD (something something also the reason why mooooosttttt Purebloods dgaf what someone says their gender is. The gods don't care either, the only time you NEED to know what's in someone's pants is if you are, in fact, actively trying to make a baby which is more biologically important for the Purebloods themselves (but there are science-y or Force-y options if you know where to look if your parts don't work together as well so take that as you will)
Legends/Lore
Said to be very protective of & kind to children; and by extension, parent(s)/guardian(s) whatever, that raise and/or treat their children well. But VERY DANGEROUS to those that DON'T. (She will find you, and she will waste your ass, and that is a promise not a threat lmao)
Has a much more violent/quick to anger temperment than her spouse, it often has to reel her back from smiting people that displease her. It said nothing about making verbal threats, however, and she will let you verbally have it if she feels you've overstepped your bounds or have been disrespectful - to her or to anyone else that Ziya feels you should be giving your respect.
It is very common in Pureblood tradition for newly partnered/married couples to include prayer and offerings to Ziya as part of their wedding/promise ceremony, to ask for her blessing of their union and for healthy (future) heir(s)
Old Pureblood wives' tales say that couples who successfully conceive after the ceremony are meant to "last longer" than those that don't (but there's no "real" proof of this its just an old superstition, y'know? :) )
Twins (especially if a couple's first children are twins) are considered especially lucky by Purebloods as they are said to be a living mirror of Wirhaziya's twins, Jiaasjen and Wuraiana.
Healers also commonly pray to Ziya when treating a patient, so that she may help them heal those whose time has not come, or so that she can take those, whose time has run out. Due to her being a common sight among Sith who have had a near-death experience, it has led many Sith to find Ziya less approachable and more untrustworthy than her spouse or even her children. (which is saying something since her spouse is quite literally the God of Death...)
Her soul whisps are called "ziyatsa" in High Sith, or "lifelights" in Galactic Basic - but seeing them is generally considered to be an omen of impending death o_O
Superstitious Purebloods believe that those who follow a trail of ziyatsa that appears to them, will NEVER be seen again. Accounts of those who have followed them and lived to tell the tale tend to come from devout worshippers of Ziya, and thus it is presumed their affiliation with the goddess afforded them a sort of "fondness" or "endearment" from Wirhaziya, thus leading to her sparing their life.
Worshippers of Ziya tend to have a slightly more positive view of her lifelights as a result, seeing them as a sign that the goddess is watching over and protecting and/or guiding them
That said, however, "DARINDZ samyi ri rokatsa" ("DO NOT follow the lights") is a saying drilled into Sith acolytes/apprentices at a very young age - just in case. >:)
Design Notes n Anatomy Stuff
If you're curious about what my thought processes were regarding her design and anatomy. I used a lot of real-life and also SWTOR animals for reference, including the following:
Tuk'ata, obviously (which I have myself based upon a mashup of the real-life animals: spotted and/or striped hyena(s) for the basic body plan/stance, moray eels for the muzzle/jaw and the teeth/dentitiion, porcupine quills for the venom spines on their shoulders/haunches, and a liiiittleee bit of crocodiles/alligators for the feet/hands and long-eared bats for.... the ears, obviously lolol as well as just bats in general sorta-kinda for the echolocation)
Her original first concept/thoughts in my brain were quite literally "Chirikyât's opposite". Hence why his main pallette is black/dark with some iridescence and he has an excessive amount of eyes, and hers is albino/white-based and she doesn't have any <3)
Lowkey their vibes were also kind of inspired by/based on Jenny Jinya's "Loving Reaper" comics, but if Life and Death were actually married and Life was a little more unhinged about everything -- once you find out what her brother did tho it will seem like a reasonable crashout LMAO)
For her anatomy, I took my basic headcanon of a tuk'ata's bodyplan, changed the venom spine/quill orientations a lil, removed the eyes and added a cool face crest thingo because 1) it was cool and I wanted to and 2) something something having something broad to bounce her echolocation back off of helps her orient herself yadda yadda, oh and made her albino because...opposites as said. :3
Basically "tuk'ata already scary, but how much Worse and Eldritch Horror-y can I make it" and my brain's answer, apparently, was "yes" XD
Her lifelights/soul whisps are based on various fae whisp myths from several different places: will-o-whisps from celtic folklore, irrbloss from scandinavian folklore and marsh/ghost lights from...a LOT of places, to name a few. The colours are obvi based on the colours given to the "sides" of the Force by the game's alignment bar but I used more purple-hued colours for Neutral rather than grey/colourless because it's a lot easier to shade with colours for me. I haven't mastered greyscale shading yet lmfao
The soul whisps are entirely optional, she doesn't have to have them if you're ever drawing fanart or a commission or art trade or whatever -- she just has them around if she happens to have souls that are in the process of reincarnating, but she might have an "off" day where there aren't any yet, if you can't or don't feel like drawing em lol
Her face crest is shaped like a shield, which sort of ties in with Chirikyât's head spikes looking like a crown, when viewed front-on.
Unlike most other tuk'ata who do have eyes (or at least would have some form of indent or eye socket where the eyes should have been), Ziya lacks eyes and the associated socket structure completely. She is entirely blind and uses a combination of Force sight and echolocation to orient herself/get around.
Her Force sight is not, however, as advanced as the likes of a Miraluka. She has a lot of "blind spots", and especially struggles with very large, solid and/or synthetic objects. Frequently needs her spouse, kids, or a worshipper to give her guiding directions or she will run face-first into walls in places like tombs or buildings where she isn't as familiar with the floorplan/general surroundings.
Every single scar she has came from Zildrogg. Yeah, the guy is an asshole. Yes, this is (part of) why Chirikyât has beef with Zildrogg. XD
Her scales also don't have to be as detailed as I made them, I just really like drawing scales and get easily carried away oops sjgsjkgdjdkd
From OC x Canon Ask Game: 3, 10, 11, 13, 18 and 20 for Saarai and any of her partners?
[OC x Canon Ask Game] (for the prompt list if anyone wants to use it for their own blog/wants to send in other questions for this! <3)
(This pride art from 2022 is the most recent art I have of all 3 of them so do forgive how bad Koth's hair looks ^^; I really should draw them again, esp since I am MUCH better at rendering Koth's hair than I was in 2022 lol)
Thank you for the ask @a-master-procrastinator! I shall try and do both Lana and Koth for most of them, though a couple I will have to do one or the other purely bc sometimes I have a solid answer for one but not the other!
Also I noticed there are 2 question 13's on the list so since I wasn't sure which one you were thinking of I decided to do both :D I missed talking about these 3 and had a lot of fun answering these so apologies for the text walls but hopefully you enjoy the lore 🤗 💖
3. How did each realize they had feelings for the other? (I.e. the "oh no... I actually have feelings for them" moment)
Lana: it was pretty much the cliche love-at-first-sight with Lana I'm ngl. Took Rai a while to admit it to herself ofc, it was probably just before the big fight with Arkous and Darok that she went "oh. oh okay I'm in love with her" :'D
Koth: for Koth it took a while. Quite a long while. Being vague here bc their story is actually perfect for question 13(1) so I'll go into detail there!! <3 They had a rocky start, there was a lot of jealousy (from both sides) when they first met. They became friends first, and she slowly fell for him the more time they spent together until the relationship was less of a V with Lana as the hinge and more a throuple thing :'D
10. How do friends/family of each character view the relationship?
The only one who has family I can really talk about here is Rai (I haven't got solid headcanons for any family for Koth and Lana yet!) so I'll do family for Rai and then friends for Lana & Koth! :3
Rai's main family that's around most are her twin, Ni'kasi, and her son from a previous relationship, Tyûk.
Ty liked Koth almost immediately, but was nervous of Lana because she sort-of-kind-of startled him (not hard to do, he's very skittish!) on Rishii when they first met.
Scary Sith lady who has a tendency to get snippy when someone doesn't like her way of doing things makes him feel threatened/nervous. Rai kind of had to play mediator there.
Koth is much more amicable and chill so he was easy to talk to, and given how fond he is of the Gravestone I kind of peg Koth as a bit of a ship nerd. Ty likes mechanics - he's a little more into lightsaber mechanics as a job once the Alliance forms, but he very much likes building/fixing things with his hands and once he was old enough to also go out and work while he and Rai were living on Rishii, Ty mostly did ship and speeder repairs. So he and Koth have an interest in common and probably spend a lot of time together maintaining the Gravestone and some of the other ships in the Alliance. Koth would definitely be his "favourite" of the two partners if he had to pick one, but he's less scared of Lana now and they're chill!
Kas was the other way around! She briefly knew/met Lana on Korriban during their trials (they were both Overseer Harkun's students, though they were in different groups they most definitely could have run into eachother during their trials. I have Ideas(tm) for that and hope to put together a oneshot eventually for how that goes 😉) and ofc they worked together extensively during Makeb before Rishii. It was actually thanks to Kas that Lana knew who Ty was when she ran into him, and also thanks to Kas that she could yell "waitwaitwait your sister sent me to find you!!" so that Rai didn't immediately fold Lana like a cheap suit when she saw Ty freaking out and trying to get away LOL They had a little rough patch when Rai and Lana broke up post-Rishii since Rai wouldn't go back to the Empire with them and Lana ended up taking the job with Marr, Kas gave Lana a bit of a shovel talk about breaking her sister's heart after that 😈 BUT after they team up to rescue Vano from carbonite prison and rekindle they smooth things over and become friends again.
She didn't dislike Koth when they met, but it definitely took Kas much longer to warm up to Koth - not because of anything he did specifically, moreso that Rai's taste in men had a poor track record up to that point and Kas really didn't want her sister to get hurt again. Once she got to know Koth and realized he was nothing like Rai's ex-boyfriend, she was a lot more accepting. They don't have a lot in common and Kas makes Koth nervous sometimes because he doesn't really know how to "read" her moods as well, but he knows he can trust her especially when it comes to helping him protect and/or support Rai <3
For Lana and Koth I'm gonna combine them into one paragraph-section-thingy bc their friend groups intersect a bit with Theron and co. Most of their friends like Rai. It's kind of hard not to like Rai. She might be very big and downright deadly on the battlefield but off the battlefield she is just Massive Golden Retriever Energy(tm). Post-Nathema Conspiracy Theron is a little more nervous around Rai because (understandably) Rai flipped outtt when Koth told her what happened.
Some of Lana's friends (namely Aria and Vano but I'm gonna go into more detail in the next question) don't like Koth very much, but they're good friends with Rai too. Rai's saved Vano's life at least twice at this point, and she has a lot in common with Aria since both of them are from Sith bloodlines with a lot of history, and both of them have a lot of interest in said history, the Gods they worship, and so on. After Lana, Koth and Kas, Aria is probably one of Rai's best friends :D
11. Who is the biggest supporter of their relationship... and who is their biggest hater?
Kas is absolutely the biggest supporter of the relationship. The three of them have sort of formed an unofficial "keep Rai from working herself to death" task force. Kas also knows how much these three love eachother so when the credit chits are down, she'll go to bat for either Lana or Koth just as fiercely as she does for her sister. They're her sibling-in-laws now, so anyone who messes with them gets to answer to both the Ahaszaai twins mwahaha
For the biggest hater, it's probably Vano (and by extension Aria, at least as far as Koth is concerned). Mostly for Koth. Vano really doesn't like Koth, she's not really willing to examine the reasons why he's so pro-Valkorion when they first met and that kind of sours every single one of their interactions forever. If Vano never had to deal with Koth again in her life she'd be happy, but unfortunately he's Rai and Lana's boyfriend(and eventually husband) so she has to put up with him. She'd never do anything OR say it to Rai's face, because she knows it won't break her way. But she reeaaaalllyyyyyy wishes Koth would leave and never come back hahaha. And being Vano's wife, Aria really doesn't enjoy how stressed out being around Koth makes Vano. But again, she values her friendship with Rai & Lana so she's not stupid enough to ever say anything to their faces about it 👀
13(1). What is one of the most pivotal moments when they are well within the timeline of their romantic relationship?
I'm cheating a little bit with Rai and Koth here, since I'll be talking a little bit about their friendship/platonic relationship as well. However ☝️☝️ it is also not cheating really, because their friendship is kind of inseparable from their romance, if I had to describe their relationship I always default to "QPR with romance sprinkles" for that reason. The "pivotal" moment for Rai was definitely during their time in the swamps on Zakuul, where she finally stopped treating Koth as a threat with no room to budge on that, and actually sat down and got to know him as a person and realizing they had a lot more in common than they first thought. For Koth, it was similar, in that when they first met she was sort of scary to him. She's way taller and heavier than him, and he very much thought if he wasn't very, very careful, this Sith might kill him. This got worse at first after he saw her fight and realized "yep. Oh gods, I am SCREWED." But then she she covers his back while they fight their way out of Zakuul and into the swamps even though he's very sure she hates him and is also in love with Lana, she puts herself between him and Senya when she notices he's uncomfortable with having her around, and she volunteers to stay with him at the Gravestone so he has a Force user to sense out any threats that come their way. So he tries to relax around her more and have a conversation with her, and because he relaxes she does too and they have a really deep heart-to-heart while Lana and Vano are off in the swamps looking for supplies and such. He realizes that "yeah, she probably could kill me if she wanted to, but she isn't".
Then she says "sorry" for being snappy. And it becomes a lot clearer to Koth that while there was some jealousy there, a lot of Rai's reactions to him were driven from reflexes she developed due to past trauma. Not only that but Rai also identifies that introspectively and then makes a conscious choice to start ignoring those reflexes and approach their relationship more logically. It takes time and is definitely a slow build sort of thing. Rai's still skittish about him touching her sometimes - because those trauma reflexes run deep D: - but they have a deep emotional connection that allows them to work around it together. She's still not ready (at least for now) to go any further with him physically than kissing or cuddling but that's okay. He doesn't push her for anything she's not ready for. (I don't know if they'll get to that point eventually, maybe they will. I'm not rushing them either so we'll see where it goes, but I'm not ruling out a retcon/development there in the future either! <3)
Rai and Lana's moment is a little bit shorter, but the thing they tend to butt heads about is Rai is a lot less scared of death than Lana thinks she should be, and one of their biggest fights ever happens before the final confrontation with Tenebrae, because Rai very much went into that fight with the attitude of "I'm probably going down too, but I'm at least going to take that fucker with me." Lana didn't like that, and it was something Rai refused to budge on, they got into quite a big fight about it, but I'm still hammering out the details of how that shakes out, so I can't say too much more about it yet! Expect more on it later on down the line once I do though! :D
13(2). What is your favorite trope or aspect about their dynamic?
For the ship as a whole, definitely "why fight about it? We all have two hands!!" because honestly that's just the ship in a nutshell lol. I also enjoy that from Lana's POV it's usually Rai getting into a situation, Koth going along with it because he's not gonna let Rai do something stupid (read: recklessly heroic) without him, and Lana finding out about it after the fact through the grapevine and going "Those are my idiots, unfortunately. Excuse me while I go and rescue them, again" hahaha
For Rai and Koth specifically, I had really thought I was setting them up to be friends who happened to share a partner in Lana, I did not expect it to develop any further than that between them but how deeply Koth is in-tune with Rai's emotions, sometimes in ways that even Lana isn't, is really sweet to me.
I care them all very much, your honour 🥺👉👈
18. What does the future look like for them? Happily ever after? Doomed? Short lived but bittersweet in its end?
100% happily ever after!! They are not splitting up ever! (Unless/until Lana and/or Koth dies since they're human and not immortal, buuuuutttt I'm putting my thinking cap on there because my personal lore/worldbuilding for Subterfugeverse is definitely heading in the direction of a possible workaround for that 👀 so we'll see! hehehehehe)
Kids together (or more kids in Rai's case) is probably not gonna happen for them. With them all having quite time-intensive roles in the Alliance I just can't see these three being able to take time off to raise a baby. Sometimes Rai is disappointed about that, she loves kids, but they gotta think practically about that hahaha.
20. What do they think of each other's fashion sense? (If they wear clothes)
And this one's gonna be a short one, mostly because I don't think it's really something they consciously think about?
Though I will say, given that Rai was dressed-down in civvies for most of the time Lana knew her on Rishii, she was probably very surprised by how easily Rai "cleaned up" into something fancier. It makes sense once she realizes "ohhhh they're Old Sith Nobility I get it now". But when they first met, I think Lana very much couldn't envision how Rai looked in less plain clothes because she'd never seen her in anything but civvies or armour.
Vano (Emperor's Wrath/The Outlander): You don't strike me as someone very inspiring or charismatic
Ni'kasi (Sith Inquisitor/Darth Occulus): I try not to strike anyone who isn't asking for it. I might hurt them.
I need my golden crown of sorrow, my bloody sword to swing. I need my empty halls to echo with grand self-mythology. Cause I am no mother, I am no bride, I am King...
I was tagged by @sullustangin ! Sorry this one took me a while to get too aaaa, but thank you for tagging me <3
Rules: post the first sentence of your last ten fics. If you haven't written ten fics, share as many first-sentences as you have.
Tagging: (no pressure, as always & only if you feel like doing it, if not feel free to ignore! :3) @actualanxiousswampwitch , @darth-bagel , @outcastcommander , @elaphaemourra, @tearlessrain, @mercurypilgrim and anyone else who feels like doing this one! Yes, I promise I mean you! :D
I’m gonna start by posting the first lines of fics I’ve recently posted/written, then I’m gonna throw some extra ones in there, for pieces that are done but I just haven’t gotten to put on AO3 yet, or the next chapter of an in-progress fic that isn’t done yet (lookin’ at you, Creeping Shadows ¬¬ XD)
10. Ni’kasi had feared the worst when Elana Thul had holo’d her to give her the news of the ambush at House Organa and that Urtel hadn’t reported back. (and all their words for glory...well they always sounded EMPTY. A oneshot from Kas’s portion of the story, By The Stars. Centered around the Urtel Moren plot point from Alderaan and the effect his death had on Kas & her future motivations re: the Empire)
9. They're on Alderaan now, getting ready to take off and leave the planet behind them. (Duende. Another By The Stars oneshot, from a prompt game here on tumblr! aka the “Andronikos is very horny over Kas but too damn stubborn to ASK and she’s having way too much fun baiting him about it” fic lmao)
8. D'leah had been rather surprised to catch the eye of her Wai Tarar across the sea of other Sith Lords and Darths, decked out to their nines in glitz and glamour in the manner she would have well expected of the High Sith families that associated with her father. (Strikhedonia. Technically a twoshot with Kiss With A Fist (which is the next one down). Set pre-game storyline, during the Ahaszaai dynasty. D’leah finally admits she’s DTF, much to the relief of every single one of their family and friends who were getting sick and tired of their UST. XD These two fics about Sith mom and Sith dad haven’t got as much attention as the others, but I honestly had a blast writing them both :D hahaha)
7. Of all the Wai Tarar that could have possibly been assigned to accompany her on this mission, it had to be this one. (Kiss With A Fist. Comes chronologically before Strikhedonia (above), and set in the same timeline, a few weeks after the events. (Wai Tarar is just High Sith for “Royal Guard”, essentially what will become the Imperial Guard in the red armour etc etc.) The “You want to fuck me so bad it makes you look stupid” D’leahssai fic, essentially.. 🤣 )
6. Aria was jerked from her fitful memories by the groaning of the shuttle’s hyperdrive. (Creeping Shadows. ~The~ first line of Creeping Shadows aka the prologue. Where it all kicked off! 🙌 Pretty self-explanatory, this sets up Aria’s introduction as well as building some ominous undertones for the Big Reveal (tm) that’s about to happen in Ch 8 & 9, I promise I have not abandoned this I am going to work on it again one day...)
---- (all the ones below this bit are WIPs so don’t have links yet as they’re not posted anywhere (yet), but I wanted to do 10 so I’m cheating so I can do 10 😛)
5. Everyone’s staring.
... ...the Empress' muscles are wound tight as coils, ready to strike at a moment's notice. (How To Pacify A Sith. an Alliance-era oneshot, set after Crisis on Umbara flashpoint. This is one that’s been finished for a while but I’ve not had the time to do the formatting in order to post it on AO3. Koth talks Rai down from flipping her shit on Theron over the betrayal; Theron really owes Koth for this one and let’s just leave it at that lol)
4. The Fleet was a refreshing change of pace, no Jedi Masters breathing down her neck or silently judging her for wanting to put away a quick drink before they moved onwards to board the transport to Coruscant. (Also Creeping Shadows, but the first line of Chapter 8, that I’m still working on because every time I get in the headspace to work on it something weird IRL happens and then I don’t get to work on it for ages bc the moment is gone. One goddamn day I will continue this story lmfao)
3. The slave pits of Dromund Kaas were dark, damp, and dingier than the wildest imagination could have painted a picture of, a "can't imagine it unless you've been there" sort of unpleasantness. (first line of the prologue of By The Stars, Kas’s “main” storyline part of Subterfugeverse, which hasn’t started public posting yet because I want to get a lot further into Creeping Shadows and get a lot more of a writing...schedule, of sorts, going for myself before I try anything ambitious like working on two longfics at the same time)
2. Of all the times she had imagined speaking to one of her uncles again, suddenly now that Abaron stood before her, Ni’kasi felt herself rather tongue-tied. (Also By The Stars, first line of Chapter 2, when Kas rocks up to the Korriban Academy and finally runs into her uncle Abaron again for the first time in like 70 years. This one’s gonna be emotional folks, that’s for damn sure ;-; I wish this meme was “favourite line” instead of “first line” so I could post the real good one /jk )
1. One thing led to another, over and over and over again, if Khem and Ashara left them unattended for too long, they’d end up in the Sith’s quarters. (this one is such a new WIP that it doesn’t have a proper title yet, just a really silly and very literal placeholder until I can figure out a decent one to convey the proper point across :) “All of Kas’s emotional development happens during smut scenes and I’m just rolling with it now”. Basically the smut fic where Kas and Andronikos become truly serious/exclusive. it’ll be a good one! Explores a headcanon of mine regarding how Sith treat people knowing their “real” name vs. their Darth name/title, and why. I’m really excited to get this one done, I like this headcanon a lot and I can’t wait to share it properly with you guys!! <3)
Andronikos: Hey, Kas. What do you think it would be like if we had kids?
Ni'kasi (Sith Inquisitor): What would it be like? Inconvenient, with the way things are going with Thanaton right now.
Andronikos: No I mean what would they be like, the kids? You ever think about it?
Ni'kasi: Right this moment, can't say I have.
Andronikos: You know, for someone as eccentric as you, you can be boring as fuck sometimes.
Ni'kasi: Sorry, Andronikos. For what it's worth, I'm picturing them now. A boy and a girl. Two perfect little freaks of nature raised by people who've clearly got no business bringin' up anybody.
There’s quite a few points in the Consular story where it’s honestly really hard for me to determine what Aria would do, and sometimes the answer is a WEIRD one. This bit on Taris is one of ‘em.
So, you’re offered a choice between saving this woman, Laria (Light-side) and saving the Jedi holocrons with a bunch of medical data that could save “thousands” of lives - supposedly (Dark-side). I always thought Aria would be the “pick to save the holocrons” gal but strangely enough after agonising on the decision for a few minutes....I ended up concluding she’d save Laria.
NOT out of the goodness of her heart though (sorry Laria, I like you pfft🤣) but rather because, well...on one hand, Darth Noctis (her father) would certainly have interest/be invested in getting his hands on those holocrons full of information he might be able to eventually use to his advantage. But on the other...letting the holocrons explode means the Jedi don’t have access to them either. Considering Aria’s whole schtick is “sabotage the Jedi from the inside out so that by the time we hit Tython at the end it’s almost a clean sweep” I feel like objectively it makes sense for her to “choose” Laria over the holocrons in this instance.
It’ll be really interesting from my perspective to see where else in this story she ends up choosing the “Light-sided” dialogue options except in Subterfugeverse canon it will be entirely for fucked up and selfish reasons so, you know, objectively it is NOT a light-side choice at all for that reason. 🤣😛

I was tagged last weekend by @swtorpadawan, thank you! I saw it too late to post something on the Sunday so I figured I’d just queue it for this week instead :’D

Have another By The Stars exerpt because Kas was strangely loud these past few weeks. This is from an outtake oneshot that may or may not include smut in the final version 😏 bc in true Sith fashion, all of Kas’s emotional development happens when she’s horny, sorrynotsorry
(the working title for this is “girl help I’m in love with the pirate”, I’m hoping a better one will come to me once I’ve finished the whole oneshot 😂)
…but for all his talk of leaving if things got “too fucked up”, for all the times he’d run off chasing that bastard “Rike”, Andronikos kept coming back. And always, she found herself waiting up for him. Ni’kasi knew she shouldn’t have, it was a fool thing, to get attached to a pirate. But she couldn’t help it. She was so very fond of him, consequences of that be damned. When Rike had gotten away from him and she’d gotten back to the ship after him and found him punching the bulkhead, the Sith had reacted on instinct to grab him by his wrists before the stupid man broke his knuckles. Somehow, even she wasn't sure how, she’d talked him down from his angry tirade and he’d smiled at her in a way that made her heart flutter.
Also you guys got an extra sentence bc it seemed weird to not finish the paragraphy but technically if you squint it’s six sentences I promise /hj
