Hear me out:
If the subterranean fight is a vision of the future and prophetic in a way, as a warning...
...then these are 100% depiction of Genos' pants right here.
That's the one thing that has stuck out to me as odd in this episode, what is the reason even showing a random dude being stuck underneath the rubber? They could have just given shock value by telling us 70% population was killed or even shown an arm. And the only thing I can think of is "yea these look like Genos' pants." They're a recognizable feature of him that does not give much away, since he's also a fashionista. It even has a belt and similar backpockets, like the first pants that we've seen Genos wear. Hell, they're identical, only the colour is different. Even the seams are the same.
Talk about a helluva subliminal message.
(No fucking wonder I thought they were Genos pants, THEY ARE)
The entire setting is also noticeable in a way that highlights the fact that there is one casualty that is more closer and relatable, versus all the other 70% of world's population as casualies who are distant and detached losses, that would make this one person stuck under the rubble much more poignant loss as it got featured.
A warning that if Saitama does not heed this warning, there would be casualties.
I've thought about that the time is ripe for the REAL subterranean fight and since Genos hasn't been seen for 2 days...yyeaaa...
I am hoping that the time is right now.

“Happy. Just in my swim shorts, barefooted, wild-haired, in the red fire dark, singing, swigging wine, spitting, jumping, running —that's the way to live. All alone and free in the soft sands of the beach....”
