It must be understood that the world into which these [visionaries] probed is perfectly real. Its reality is more irrefutable and more coherent than that of the empirical world where reality is perceived by the senses. Upon returning, the beholders of this world are perfectly aware of having been “elsewhere”; they are not mere schizophrenics. This world is hidden behind the very act of sense-perception and has to be sought underneath its apparent objective certainty. Since the domain of science is supposedly the entire physical universe, scientists are loathe to admit the validity of extra-scientific realities. Hence, the contempt of “official” science for all subtle realm accounts. Psychologists are only beginning to explore what had once been relegated to the intellectual junkyard of “pseudoscience,” whether we study the psychology of spontaneous healing, the placebo effect, mysticism or alien encounters. It is worth noting that much of Western science is based upon the limited perceptual reality of physical objects and forces. However, those perceptions describe a very narrow bandwidth of the natural world, much like radio waves make up only a small part of the total electromagnetic spectrum. Hayley and Joy show us that humans are capable of perceiving much more.

The “subtle realm” is the hidden dimension that shadows the phenomenal world we perceive with our senses. It is the forbidden domain, the realm of angels and aliens. The realm beyond consensus reality. Consensus reality? What does that mean as we accelerate past the year 2,000? Consensus reality, the tacitly-agreed-upon totality, appears to be undergoing a collective crack-up.
