CCS Work - Caravaggio Abstraction
I wouldn’t usually post anything to do with the CCS work book that I keep but I was very pleased with this abstraction I did of Caravaggio’s painting “Supper at Emmaus”.
I have always enjoyed picking apart the underlying geometry of classical paintings, though my interpretations may not be totally accurate it does highlight to me the triangulation of eye paths artists use to generate an intended experience for the spectator.
Here I show some of the underlying geometry, the original image, a collage of cut outs of that geometry and finally my digitally created kaleidoscopic deconstruction of the original painting.
This could be an interesting way to produce work in the future.
