Vietnam has started construction of the fully automated, Usd 1.39 billion Subway Line Extension of their Metro Line 2 and is targeting its completion by 2030. The new Line will be 6 kilometers long and will be called the "Ben Thanh-Thu Tiem Line".
The Line will be entirely underground and will be fully automated, using the GoA4 Standard Technology which is the highest Level of Train Automation in the World right now and is used in France, Australia and China.
This Subway Extension will eventually link with their Bullet Train Line which is also now under construction, and will also link with the Long Thanh International Airport. If this Subway Line is completed and operational by 2030, it will be ahead of the Philippines' Subway Line which is expected to be in operation by 2032.
