An AU Written before Sunrise on The Reaping was released - As Effie prepares to start training to be games escort, she crosses paths with none other than Haymitch Abernathy. They might be opposites, but they have common interests, books being one, and a need to retreat from parties another. Despite their reservations about getting to know one another, fate has other ideas, pushing them together by making Effie the escort for District Twelve.

But Effie isn't naive, she knows what it will take to be the escort that the district needs. So, she offers Haymitch a deal. She will play the role of the perfect escort if he can keep himself just sober enough to train their tributes. He reluctantly agrees, not because he thinks it will work, but because Effie asked him. And for some reason he cannot understand, he tends to do as she asks.

Ok i'm trying to be objective but can we all agree that there is more hayffie vibes on the SOTR trailer that haydove vibes????

Personally I don't ship hayffie with Joseph and Elle's version because I think that their love is someting that grew over time but I feel more chemical with these two in the 3 seconds they appear together that the 15 seconds with Lenore Dove and Haymitch.
