Meet the Award-winning author of Reclaiming The Soil @rosiemotene Raised by white foster parents as her mother was a domestic worker, yes I knew who were my parents but my relationship with my mother was more of a master and servant relationship. At my first year in university I was in an abusive relationship with my partner, emotionally when he used to tell me how fat and ugly I was, until that one day; he hit me... I went to the police station but no one wanted to help me. I got pregnant and my foster family decided for me to have an abortion. As I research led different organizations seeking for help, I come across POWA (People opposing women abuse) and I enrolled for a 3 month course for counseling and public awareness were I learnt the different levels of abuse, the kinds of abuse, the myths and misconceptions around it and court preparation. I was and ambassador for @unwomen for a campaign called (Africa united campaign) were I climbed Kilimanjaro in 2012 but unfortunately I got ill and I was brought down. In 2014 I climbed again whereby I managed to summit and reach uhuru peak; through that climb I raised Twenty thousand (R20 000) “God put me in that place because I really needed to create a shift” As for my book, it took me 10 years and as for today I have a book named ‘Reclaiming the soil’.
