Nature Reclaiming an Abandoned Beauty
hey just letting you know, mutt is a slur and you shouldn't be using to refer to a dog or anyone in general. just "mixbreed" works fine
It’s a slur when used against humans. Context matters. Some slurs are just regular words in certain contexts or certain places. Like the f-slur, in the UK that’s just what they call cigarettes.
Also, I’m mixed.
“Heartless” Reclamation
for a-spec / anattractional beings, beings who are often accidentally rude due to neurodivergence / disorders, and beings with low to no empathy / sympathy who reclaim the term “heartless.”
Authors note: where my fellow low empathy bitches at 🔥
pretty venty, but
am i the only person irked by the "fat cow" post? like the first thing we mention is "fat milkers" (not to say fat people can't be sexy, but? hello?)
and the idea behind Cow is the reclamation of the term "fat cow",,, i just feel like it's too early to reclaim that. we still have work to do before we can go around calling people cows. and bear was ALWAYS a term of endearment not an insult turned endearment.
and the "cows can be pretty too yknow" yeah cows are cute to some people but a lot of people have to Learn to appreciate them. compared to bears which are kinda pop-cultured into being cool by default and thus revolutionary to put on the uncool fat body.
cows are also animals bred and killed for their meat and milk. i'd rather not be compared to a farm animal (for reasons Beyond the fat thing)
You are totally valid. Reclamation doesnt work for everybody. I dont like it myself, for all the reasons you mentioned but for some its empowering. Mileage may very and its always important to follow people's lead about what people like to be called. Its not a battle you or anyone else has to pick up though.
Luckily I learned that bear was supposed to be for everybody regardless of gender if you like that. I found a lot of pride flags when I was collecting them for queue and few bear terms are in there! As a note if any of our followers have related pride flags ill gladly add them to the queue as well. How we experience gender and sexuality *can* be altered by being fat and if you've got posts about that let us know! Besides the pride flags in the tag "gender" there are trans experiences and how fatness complicates things.
Anyway to point: I totally get how you're feeling. Its not for me but for those that are reclaiming I hope it helps.

transandrobro
[PT: transandrobro /end PT]
i don't know if anyone else has done this, but here's a flag for people who want to reclaim the word transandrobro ! it has been used to refer to people -usually trans men or transmascs- who speak up about what trans men and trans mascs face, as a way to mock us, and to mock the term " transandrophobia ". I've seen several people reclaim this so i wanted to make a flag for it :3
if this already exists then consider this an alt flag
!! please ask for permission before reposting my terms / flags to other sites and please add credit. dont ask about re-uploading to pinterest though because the answer will always be no. !!
( I'm not able to do image descriptions so any help is appreciated ! ill reblog your ID if you add one and ill also add it to the og images alt text with credit )
