Sorry if the image is weird tumblr wouldn’t let me send in more than one so I just put them together. I recently moved to a new apartment and since the move some of my plants are getting sick? I’ve had the donkeys tail and fairy tale castle for a year now and neither of them have had problems until now. The aloe is pretty new. I water everything like monthly and I know that the two older plants are in a soil made specifically made for succulents and cactus’s. all three pots have drainage holes. They all get pretty good light from my new window. I don’t know what to do! Help!
SuccyGirl:
Your new environment is probably much different to them compared to where they used to live. Your fairy castle might be a bit sunburnt, I can’t quite tell, the ends Do Not look good at all. If they’re mushy I would cut them off to be honest.
Your Donkey’s tail looks like it’s rotting pretty badly, only way to save that would be to cut above the rot if you’re able, if it’s reached the top of the stems however it’s toast unfortunately and there’s no way to save it.
As for the Aloe I’m not sure, sometimes they like to throw tantrums and be drama queens. It could be it’s soil, too, which looks very organic.
I would recommend you repot all of them, commercial cactus soil is too moisture retentive for succulents and cacti. They always have to be mixed at least half/half with more grit (like Perlite or Pumice) or you’ll have problems with them retaining moisture and rotting your plants.Your new apartment might be more humid then your last place and the soil is retaining that moisture.
