ur last repost is so nice to see idk y as someone who likes to write fanfics sometimes i feel pressured to try and write something i think will be palatable to everyone. but honestly, it doesn't have to be palatable especially when 90% of the ppl complaining aren't even interacting with fics that fit what they're describing. the mindset of don't like don't read also applies to writing and im just now realizing that. but yeah honestly i think everyone likes to complain a little too much atp most fic writers are so talented they deserve a gold metal and kiss on the lips.

literally!!! everything i write is because i want to! i am my main audience first and foremost. i do not gaf about who reads it because im still going to write it because i want to. i do really think the weird opinions and people demanding fics be created for them AND WRITERS feeling like they’re writing for an audience does come from online monetisation!!! because if you like an instagram post or watch a tiktok or youtube video those numbers benefit the creator in literal money. so even if youre watching and not commenting you feel like you should have somewhat a say in what you’re watching. but fanwork doesn’t work like that!!!! nobody is getting paid and someone else’s opinion not only is unnecessary but just pointless or disheartening! especially when everyone here is doing it for the joy of the art!!!!!!!
