Seeing Sergio Ramos bring out the trophy at the end gave me intense nostalgia and just reminded me how much I loved the 2010 Spanish NT. They were/are my favourite team to have played in the WC (since I've been watching). Ronaldo with Ronaldinho were incredible in 2002 but the 2010 Spanish NT was a whole roster of brilliance-the likes of which I have not seen during 2026. Or maybe I just remember the past poetically and they were actually mediocre lol.

Also. I think this WC was an extremely important audition for Jude. He’s too young this time to carry the duties of a captain and perhaps this is why he was able to play more freely and passionately to the point of feralness.

But in the third-place match today against France, I strongly felt like something switched in him and he carried himself like a future captain. His consideration for Bukayo Saka and just knowing how career defining that moment would be. We won’t forget that.

I’m not sure if he would’ve played had it not been due to another players injury but I’m glad he did and it was important he did.

This bro got me writing essays about him now. I have to admit, I just thought he was talented and handsome before, who knew he’d get me in my soul. And I can’t hate the World Cup for giving us all this.

I think it’s actually really funny that this World Cup will be remembered for Haalingham. Not just the bromance but legitimately because they were outstanding athletes. I know so many people who have developed crushes on one or both of them. Talk about power couple.
