It’s been months and the guilt is fresh as ever. Neji’s death and his absence don’t ever leave her mind. She wants, no desperately needs a fresh start. Be somewhere where the reminder won’t hurt so much, where his presence isn’t everywhere drowning her. The villain here is no-one else but herself. It’s not him bringing on this pain, for this is not what her cousin would wish. 

The tears are getting old, but the pain doesn’t lessen. Her family is looking to her, impatiently waiting for her to rise again. Don’t they know? She’s not a phoenix like her brother, who rose from his ashes. She can’t do that. 

Her strength is swallowing her pain and enduring it. Lifting a hand wipe at her wet eyes, she reaches for her shirt and scrubs them dry. Then lifting her head, she brushes back her hair and is startled to see someone else here. Her stomach flips and her mouth dries. It’s Naruto’s old comrade, Uchiha Sasuke. 

“Excuse me...” she murmurs getting to her feet. He must use this spot or something.

Onyx hues gazed up to the sun, feeling the warmth of it's rays... A soft sigh escaped colored lips, feeling a sense of peace in the area. Peace had been something harder and harder to come by now a days, ever since the quickly spreading rumor of Madara appearing in the Land of Iron. A frown accompanied fair skinned features as Mana thought back on her time with the samurai, wondering if they, too, were in danger of the affairs of shinobi. 

The idea of serenity was quickly dispelled at the sight of the ground in front of her shifting, two white figures forming from the earth's crust. A soft gasp could be heard; she had spent most of her adult life straying away from Leaf affairs...though did not expect those affairs to find her.

"Alright, bitches..." Mana grinned, raising slender fingers to her chest. "Lets see if you can handle this."

With a hand raised to her lips, the woman crouched slightly, her feet firmly planted on the ground, the flaming hot fireball extending from her mouth, heading in a cone shape toward those White Zetsu.

Blade's Edge

There were some doubts. There was some disobedience. But that wasn't anything that was surprising. Although Orochimaru has become accustomed to getting what he wants he knows there are bound to be complications. Kabuto was quick to judge, to point out to his mentor how undisciplined their new addition was.

Kabuto-kun always thought he knew what was best. He had to be reminded of their first meeting and how much blood loss was involved. After that he became quieter about it. Sasuke was indeed a double-edged sword. A verifiable powder keg of heaving complicated adolescence marinated in unthinkable trauma. His determination did however seem genuine.

Today Orochimaru apporached the boy with some new lessons in mind. And a large stick. A stick with which he jabbed Sasuke in a half-hearted manner to get his attention.

"I hope you're awake today, Sasuke-kun.~" he said in his usual velvet drawl. "I have a proposal for you."

Sasuke tilted his head slightly when fingers were made still and he turned to look over at the older when he felt the shift in his sitting position. “Nothing, Itachi. Just simply..” He paused for a moment to try to hold back the smirk that was forcing itself to be made known. “Thanking you for a good meal.”

Suddenly water slapped against the raven’s head, making his eyes flash opened with alarm and the muscles in his torso strain to lift the body up off of.. Sand? His mind started to turn on and his eyes focused a little more to see the little grains which he was sitting on and miles of clear blue water stretched out before him. 

    “The fuck happened..?” 

The sound of another voice made her jump. She wasn't alone? Teal eyes looked around again, landing on the dark hair and pale skin of none other than Sasuke Uchiha. Temari frowned and rubbed at her eyes. Surely that had to be wrong.

     "This cannot be happening."
