is it really… my eyes are grayish and i have a tiny bit of ashkenazi apparently

yeah... i can’t find stats easily about grey eyes in the general population, but it is apparently a Thing among jewish people enough that there’s stats for that and ashkenazim tend to have a ~30% prevalence rate of grey eyes.

the attitude is common for people starting out later and they just need to get over it.. people tend to be unforgiving with their early efforts.. if i was bombarded that i needed to learn anatomy first, etc, i would be forced to think about getting good before enjoying the “fun part” which may be never kids before 6-7th grade don’t get as paralyzed and are able to feel free reign.. but if one has been drawing since then, later decisions get complicated due to attachment

yeah, & i hate to say “you gotta get over it” because that leaves the onus on them instead, but literally there is no way to help someone make the decision to keep going when they feel bad instead of giving up. i’m glad i started out early before i was on the internet where you’re just, immersed with fantastic art to compare yours to but i also dislike that people are like “well no wonder you’re so good, you’ve been practicing for x years” when i don’t think i developed anything remotely close to technical skill that i use now until i was in my late teens. a lot of things like doing backgrounds or color theory i didn’t even start practicing until i was like 20 or 21

i hide my follower count with the stylish extension - is it something you can use?

i have that stylish extension but ever since tumblr updated the sidebar, it can’t hide followers when i reblog a post (forcing the sidebar to pop up and stay there) or need to say, edit a blog’s settings or queued posts (where the follower count is visible in the dropdown menu) & it sucks
