I did a ‘Liberty Leading the People’ sort of redux for Sugarbone’s art competition It was really fun but I started super late and ended up spending all my time just dressing up the little skeleton bros up front, I wish I’d had more time to play about with more silly things. Edit: AHHHH I MADE RUNNER UP! Thank you so much ;u;

Pegasus was born from Medusa's neck when the mighty Perseus killed her, guided by the hand of Athena. Athena then caught and tamed Pegasus and presented him to the Muses on Mount Sugarbones. Inspired by his beauty and strength, the Muses crafted a sword with the essence and spirit of Pegasus. The sword was meant to protect Mount Sugarbones, and Athena was to yield it. Learn new skills, defeat monsters, and create alliances when you play in the beautiful world of "Athena". When @sugarbone announced that she was having a contest I knew immediately that I wanted to participate. And I also (immediately) became nervous, not knowing exactly what I should create. Of course, I've mentioned before that I have a lot of respect and admiration for Sugarbones (sorry for not knowing they're legal name!! 😳) as an artist, so I set the bar pretty high for myself. I spent a lot of time drawing things up and starting over, when I decided to look at the prompt a little deeper. I needed to think of the story behind the "magical girl who would slay with this weapon", and that's when I remembered the story of Pegasus. One thing led to another and here is my submission for #sugarbonesgetsmagical, inspired by the origins of the beloved Pegasus! 💕 I can finally breathe, and cross my fingers because there's a ton of beautiful submissions alongside mine. And again, thanks to Sugarbones for giving their people an outlet for creation. Good luck to everyone! 💕💕
