Hello there! I was wondering if it was ok to cosplay as ocs at comic con? Would it be accepted or would people be weirded out? I was planning on cosplaying as the pumpkin queen and having a pumpkin head on but I'm starting to have second thoughts if people will think I'm being immature or whatnot...
I donāt see why not! Iāve never been to a comic con (I generally attend anime conventions) but if the community is as welcoming and friendly as other cons are, I doubt youāll have any issues whatsoever! I debuted SugarCubed at an anime convention, and people loved her, much to my surprise!
The only OCs Iāve ever seen publicly rejected are āself-insertā characters, or OCs created to be in the universe of an already existing show or series. For example, Iāve seen people cosplaying as a character they made up who was āfrom Narutoā, and other fans reacted unkindly.
In my experience, as long as your character is truly an original concept, I doubt anyone will bother you. Plus, if you like your character enough to cosplay them, who cares what others think? Itās for you! C:
I hope you have fun wearing them!
Lovely group photo from the big object head meet-up at Anime Iowa this year! Look at my pretty babies~

Final day of Anime Iowa today! I held the object head meet-up today, and so many amazing creations were shown off, I'm still speechless! LOTS of love to everyone who came! š Here's a few snaps for now, and I've got nice quality photos in the works!
Wore SugarCubed for a bit this evening at Anime Iowa! āØ
Sorry if this has already been asked (i didnt see it on the faq) but what does the back of sugarcubed's monitor say?
I donāt think Iāve been asked that before, actually! The back of her head says ākawaiiā (unless I wrote it incorrectly), which is Japanese for ācuteā. Since Sugar is based off of Japanese street fashion, I decided to add that to the back of her head!
and THANK YOU for reading my FAQ!! I greatly appreciate it!
Hey! My friend and I are planning to do montior heads but we're not too sure what the "theme" should be. (Example: your theme was candy/sweets and your friends did galaxy and such) Do you have any ideas of what we could do? c:
This is such a fun question!! I have a little list of ideas for monitors should I make a successor to SugarCubed at some point, so Iāll share a few in vague detail:
⢠SugarCubed is actually based off of Decora fashion, so you could look into Fairy Kei, Lolita, Harajuku, etcetera for fashion inspiration!
⢠Gore/Zombie themed (and go as crazy as you want with the blood/guts!)
⢠Apocalypse theme (Weaponry and ripped clothes, possibly a cracked screen. Has technology taken over?)
⢠Maid/Butler (ācause thatās really cute)
⢠Magical girl themed
⢠Original Character (Sort of what I did with SugarCubed; Create a personality, then dress it with what would suit them!)
hey! i was wondering how breathable you would say an object head is? im making one for my friend and myself and im worried about breathability. also any tips for keeping cool inside? (we live in az so heat is maybe also a concern)
Hello, anon!Ā The heads are VERY breathable, so long as you make your head hole nice and wide! Computers are also fitted with many holes designed to cool the inner electronic components, so those help too! Hereās a photo to point out theĀ āholesā Iām referring to:
In my tutorial, Iāve instructed you to tape these holes off when painting, so simply remove the tape when youāre finished, and the holes will add even more breathability! Though theyāll also let more light in, so I chose to leave the tape over the holes at all times on SugarCubed. As for keeping cool, take the head off very frequently to prevent neck pain, and take a sip of water each time you remove your head. This way, youāll keep hydrated and cool! Iām from Iowa, and some of the summer cons I go to within the state can get to temperatures of 90 degrees or hotter, and Iāve never had an issue with overheating. I recommend hanging out in air-conditioned places as much as is possible, and youāll be just fine!
