It is not common knowledge, but Tsukikage had been chosen to be a Lancer long before the Battle Royale had even begun. He was hired to watch over Serena (and Yuzu to a certain extent) to make sure that Academia would not take them. Unfortunately, they had not exactly counted on Yuzu getting taken to the Synchro dimension, or the Lancer duel disks to separate everyone. What more, to even be dragged into the City’s problems as well.
Tsukikage stared long and hard at the former Academia soldier and shook his head. “Nothing to do with you, I am certain. What I speak of is the other thing. When all of this ends, Reiji-dono will be expected to pay my school a hefty sum for our...no, my, services.”
There was also the little matter that he still viewed Sora as his brother’s murderer, but at the behest of Yuzu, he had dropped his animosity towards the shorter Duelist. After their joint Duel against the Obelisk Force, he noted how weak he really was, and how likely he would have faced the same fate as Hikage had Sora not intervened.
