we're back to tell you all about how you can easily connect with your friends on suggestaurant. it's essentially a social inception...

how it works

step 1: go to nuts & bolts > social. step 2: connect to facebook and/or twitter. step 3: click the 'find friends' and 'find followers' buttons. step 4: locate and follow all of your friends. step 5: don't see your friends? it's probably because they aren't on suggestaurant (yet). yeah, we think it's a shame too.

*** suggestaschool: week 5 * taste buds ***

suggestaschool again, and this week we’re all about taste buds — your friends on suggestaurant that is.

when you follow someone on suggestaurant, your actual taste buds benefit because that person’s suggestions appear in your feed. if he/she returns the favor and follows you, you can send each other suggestions directly to your respective suggestion boxes.

how it works

step 1: go to taste buds. step 2: select the ‘followers’ tab and do a search. step 3: click 'follow’ and meet your new taste bud! step 4: see his/her suggestions appear in your feed!

pro-tip…only those suggestions from people whom you’re following will appear in your feed. so choose wisely!

*** suggestaschool: week 4 * live suggestions  ***

suggestaschool here, and this time we’re telling you about live suggestions — a way to see what restaurants your friends and some strangers are suggesting in real time!

how it works

step 1: go to the ‘live suggestions’ link on the left side of the page. step 2: if you haven’t done so already, enter an address and click the white arrow. step 3: see restaurant suggestions from friends, neighbors and strangers!

pro-tip…click on the little gray tab to the right of the address to perform an advanced search with a bunch of nifty filters.

*** suggestaschool: week 3 * share your food ***

another week, another (way to save) dollar(s). suggestaschool is in session and this time we are letting you know how to get the most exposure for your suggestions so that you can get even more discounts.

each suggestion you make leads to discounts when someone uses it to place an order, so the more people that see it, the better! and since we're all about being social, we've provided ways to post your suggestions to facebook and twitter with just one click. any time someone clicks on your facebook or twitter suggestion and then orders, you get a discount!

how it works

step 1: open the pending suggestion above your feed in the top-right by clicking ‘suggest’. step 2: locate the 'facebook' tab and connect your facebook (rinse and repeat for twitter). step 3: be sure the checkboxes for facebook and/or twitter are checked, and write a comment if you’d like. step 4: presto. you've just shared your food!

pro-tip...would you like to post to a different social media site? no problem. just copy the unique url from the facebook or twitter tabs and post away.

*** suggestachool: week 2 * the cache ***

in this week’s lesson, we’re letting you know how to get some free (or discounted) food! ordered from a restaurant and liked the food? suggest it to start earning discounts to that restaurant. any time someone clicks on your suggestion and then orders, you get a discount. the more people who order from your suggestion, the cheaper your next meal becomes! how it works

step 1: place an order. step 2: locate the pending suggestion right above your feed in the top-right. step 3: suggest the restaurant if you liked it. step 4: see discounts appear in your cache!

pro-tip…discounts are good to only the restaurant that you suggest so if you didn’t like the food, don’t suggest it. pro-tip 2…if you do like the restaurant, be sure that you suggest it each time you order so you keep earning more credits.

the usual: thursday night and three friends stop by your place after work. you decide to order dinner. you pick a restaurant and place the order and then the calculators come out. who owes whom what. who’s covering the tip. oh wait, i paid for dinner last time so you got me now... the debate goes on well past the food delivery.

the game changer: thursday night and three friends stop by your place after work. you decide to order dinner. you pick a restaurant and each place your own order on one bill...paying for it individually — order, tax, tip...no problem! order minimum too high? split the bill and you also split the order minimum.

here’s how it works...

step 1: login — at least one user has to be logged in to access the split-the-bill feature. step 2: on the right of the restaurant’s menu page, click the ‘+’ sign next to the number ‘1’ tab in order to add someone to your order. step 3: everyone adds items to their own tab and adds their own tip. step 4: go to the checkout page and everyone enters their payment info. then sit back and wait for your food!

ps only one user needs to be logged in to split the bill — everyone else can order as a guest. but if you’d like the option of suggesting the restaurant for some potential discounts, you can login to your respective tab too!
