A pair of YCH commissions I purchased from Nina over on instagram, the pose was super cute, and we decided to make it extra colors with the paint splatter for pride month like they’re at a parade!

Bonrin as Odysseus and Penelope, mayhaps?👀

I decided to go with art for this, because the story would have to be looonnngggggg and most of the time the couple isn't together and one of them are rarely even in the narrative. So!

I feel like Rin and Ryuuji would know the other mutually likes them for a little while before they actually get together.

And it’s actually Rin holding them back, because he unfortunately has all the correct and valid points to not pursue anything with Ryuuji. He’s not just a half demon, but he’s the half demon child of Satan, wielder of the flames that desecrated his temple. His life all depends on passing the Exorcist exams and even then, it’s going to be years before he’s at a spot within the ranks where he’s treated with any sort of dignity.

Not only that, but I think Rin would give up on the idea of having any sort of “normalcy” in his life. A boyfriend/girlfriend and not a one night stand if he’s lucky, marriage, children. He’d point this out to Ryuuji too, with a heartbroken “please don’t give me hope, I won’t survive if it doesn’t turn out to be real.”

But Ryuuji does give him hope<3 being the one to take the majority of the initiatives in the beginning of their relationship, hand holding, kissing, cuddling, sleeping in the same bed. Until Rin feels comfortable enough to initiate back and even be the one to take some first leaps in their relationship. Showing and proving to Ryuuji he wants this equally as much if not more.
