ex-boyfriend!suguru who was your high school sweetheart. the kind and good-hearted boy you loved endlessly from freshman year until senior year. and he did the same, or so you thought. until two weeks after high school graduation, when he broke up with you out of nowhere, admitting he wanted some space in college so he could focus on school and both of you could explore different options, and make sure you really wanted each other.
ex-boyfriend!suguru who lied to you. those weren’t his reasons for breaking up, but if you knew the truth, he knew you would try to reassure and convince him otherwise. but he was not good enough for you. you were going to an ivy league school, to focus on making the most of your future, and he was only going to the local university. ex-boyfriend!suguru who was terrified that you were going to meet someone more deserving of you than he was, and decided to leave you before you left him.
ex-boyfriend!suguru who sent you on such a downward spiral, having a nervous breakdown and crying your eyes out and refusing to leave your bed for two weeks straight. until your best friend, shoko zenin, decided she’d had enough of you moping around. suguru was a dick, you deserved better, and shoko would not let you sit and cry over a loser who never deserved you anyway.
ex-boyfriend!suguru who saw you on a beach in bora bora with shoko, sipping on margaritas and posting your bikini shots in the sand, and had to block you because he had to stop moping over the girl he’d been in love with you. he couldn’t watch you partying in city after city, sometimes with your friends and sometimes on your own, living up your life before school.
ex-boyfriend!suguru who was completely baffled when freshman orientation rolled around and you were at his school, having decided to switch schools last minute and ditch your previous commitment to your big school, wanting to be around friends and family and prioritizing them.
ex-boyfriend!suguru who was heartbroken when you didn’t even so much as look his way. you looked healthy, happy, tan, and bright-eyed. your makeup was done, your clothes and hair nicer than he’d ever seen, and you’d ditched your glasses for contacts and gained a new sense of confidence that he’d never seen on you before. you’d changed, and suguru felt his chest burning at the sight of it.
ex-boyfriend!suguru who saw you two days at his first frat party, hosted by his best friend, satoru gojo, and itched to pry the man you were making out off of you the moment he laid his eyes on the two of you. you hadn’t even seemed to notice him, never once gave him a glance, even though you shared five classes together. he hadn’t seen your eyes lingering once, and he was both terrified and confused- were you purposely not looking at him? or did you actually not notice his presence anymore?
ex-boyfriend!suguru who finally snapped, marching over to you and the guy you were making out with, none other than campus fuckboy hajime kashimo, when he began to grind on you and drag you to the bathroom. ex-boyfriend!suguru who pried hajime’s hand off of you, telling him to leave you alone, before pushing him away from the two of you.
ex-boyfriend!suguru who never thought he could feel more heartbroken, only to experience devastation when you told him that you could make out or fuck whoever you wanted, that you were no longer his, and it was his fault. it’d been his idea anyway- to try out new people. suguru didn’t think he’d have to see it with his own eyes anyway.
ex-boyfriend!suguru who watched you leave with hajime, and ended up leaving the party early as well. ex-boyfriend!suguru who couldn’t get the image of you and hajime tangled in your sheets, his heart heavy and hurting at the knowledge that what he was imagining was a reality.
