ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 🇪🇹 🌋Ethiopia: Massive Sulfur Dioxide Emission from the Heli Gubi Volcano Eruption
⚠️ A new animated map released by the European Copernicus program reveals the enormous sulfur dioxide (SO₂) emissions generated by the recent eruption of the Heli Gubi volcano in Ethiopia.
🌍 The visuals clearly show how the massive volcanic cloud stretched for over 3,700 kilometers — starting from the Afar region in northeastern Ethiopia, crossing the Arabian Peninsula and the Arabian Sea, and reaching as far as western India. 🇮🇳
🌫️ Such extensive SO₂ dispersion can impact air quality, climate dynamics, and potentially influence regional weather patterns, especially when interacting with moisture in the atmosphere.
