“I think I broke it.” Normally, Hyejeong would have laughed, continuing what she had just been doing with an amused grin plastered on her face, because she knew that her friend could be a bit clumsy at times, and it had happened before that the other had broken a plate or a pen or something of the sort, but today Sulli’s voice sounded so different. There was no sheepish smile on her face, the elder was sure of that. Instead, it sounded like she was crying, so Hyejeong didn’t hesitate for even a second, dropped the dishes she had just been washing back into the sink, and ran into the living room.
Chanmi had opened the door for Sulli, as she often did when her unnies were busy with something else, and she was currently kneeling onto the ground next to their visitor who occupied the sofa. Like Hyejeong had suspected, tears were streaming down her friend’s face as she held onto her foot. “What happened?” When Chanmi turned her head to explain the situation, the visual noticed that she had tears in her eyes as well. “She fell down the stairs—I wanted to help but—“ “Hey, it’s okay. Go get Choa or Jimin unnie and have them call our manager, okay?” Hyejeong stayed surprisingly calm, but for some reason she didn’t feel panicked at all. As soon as their maknae had left the room, she knelt down next to her friend. “What do you think you broke? Your ankle? Can you move your foot at all?” Honestly, she hadn’t thought that having studied human biology would ever come in handy, but the day for her to actually make use of her knowledge had come and she was more than determined to do anything she could to help the girl she had grown quite fond of. Sulli stayed silent for the most part, wincing as she slightly moved her foot from side to side. “Okay, okay! You’re doing great. It’s not broken. You probably just sprained it, okay?” A small smile appeared on Hyejeong’s face as she looked up at the younger, nodding firmly. “Just stay here and rest, don’t move one bit. Our manager will be here in a minute and we’ll get you to a doctor, but it’s not that bad! You’ll be fine, okay? Don’t worry about it.” She carefully reached up to take her friend’s hand, then gave it a reassuring squeeze.
