Savion was born in Italy sometime around 1276 BC to a young mother who narrowly survived childbirth & died soon after surrendering infant Savion to an orphanage with no record of a father. Savion had a difficult childhood in a poor orphanage that threw him out at only ten. Sometime around his eighteenth birthday, Savion met Aro while begging on the street. At a glance Savion remembers thinking of Aro as the most beautiful creature he’d ever seen & mistaking him for Jupiter in the flesh due to his dazzling nature. Aro took him from the streets where he begged & allowed him to set up residence in a mountainside cottage with a tended flame & bountiful garden. Savion didn’t question the man’s motivations & eagerly awaiting his visits every evening once the sun had set.
These nocturnal visits persisted for several months before Aro confessed his nature to Savion. He expected the young human to flee in terror but Savion embraced it wholeheartedly. He’d come to fall in love with Aro but hadn’t realized it until the threat of his disappearance made it painfully obvious. He agreed to become a vampire & soon after Savion’s transformation, they married. Savion joined Aro in his coven, becoming the final founding member of the Volturi alongside Marcus, Caius, Athenodora, & his sister-in-law, Didyme. He didn’t understand Aro’s thirst for power but supported him in every way he could, though he did feel jealous that he no longer felt like the most important thing to his mate.
When Didyme’s death left Marcus as a shell of himself, Savion’s relationship with his mate strained. If he could slaughter his own sister in cold blood, who else was he willing to sacrifice? Before he could fully decide whether or not he wanted to expose Aro & Caius’s plot to Marcus, Aro locked Savion in the tower to protect him- seemingly from himself -and Corin joined the coven. Her gifts were intense & intoxicating, leaving both Savion & Athenodora complacent with their practical imprisonment. As the centuries passed, Savion remained loyal to Aro- but increasingly distant. With each passing day he feels himself becoming less & less affected by Corin’s gifts & his mind wanders further from Aro.
