carlos didn’t know what he was doing. it wasn’t an uncommon occurrence, though he normally didn’t drag other people into it. he couldn’t help it though, not when the kid at the table was obviously stood up. carlos knew how much that stung. maybe that was why he slid into the booth, exclaiming, “sorry i’m so late babe! jess was late again, and i had to cover for until she got in.”
he grinned, bright and warm as he lowered his voice. “i’m carlos. just roll with it, yeah? being stood up fucking sucks.”
