Riman Loveho Danshikai Vol.2 Koibito Hen
Oikawa-san enjoying the sea breeze.
“Hey Iwa-chan ❤️ guess who I found here?”
I like the idea where Oikawa would just call Iwaizumi regardless of the time difference... 😈
if ur an oikawa fucker and/or iwaizumi: come an’ get it.
Asuma Kosuke's tweet makes my whole life complete
So Oikawa’s in 🇧🇷, huh?
(My unsolicited thoughts/opinions on 371)
Seems Furadate wants to at least tantalize us with the possibility of Beach!Oikawa, given
1) Oikawa’s serendipitous Rio arrival and
2) Hinata pointedly considering how “forgiving” sand is while playing with, umm, not-so-youthful folks who might have joint issues—which could, ya know, be relevant to Oikawa’s knee injury....
I def hadn’t even considered the canon possibility of Oikawa, of all people, playing beach (with or without my Mandarin🍊) for a number of reasons:
1) A Grand King should lead his Knights (team)!! 😭 He’s such an amazing leader, and that aspect wouldn’t come into play as much in beach. *Cries in Seijou*
2) I fucked my knee on swim team as a kid, and I disliked playing beach because of that injury. I understand that some people feel sand is gentler on the joints, but my knee really hated the “softness”/instability of sand. I was muuuuch happier playing on a solid court, even with the impact, dives, etc.. And, ya know, bonus points to indoor🏐 for AC and keeping my pale skin out of the sun. And let’s be honest: I wasn’t well-rounded enough for beach, anyway; you literally have to do all the things in all the places. 😂
3) I’m 💯 sure I’m not alone here, but I’ve had a KageHina beach headcanon pretty much since I started the series this summer—but mainly for funsies because I didn’t think beach stood a chance for canon! Beach!KageHina was the only way I could fulfill my existential need for alllll of my favorite characters to play for Team Japan: KageHina on the beach, Oikawa as setter and eventual captain on the court. 😂 I mean, “Freak Duo” + “As long as I'm here, you're invincible!”?! Like, come on. That just screams pairs / beach! But since beach is now a legitimate aspect of canon (still have whiplash from this one, tbh), my head’s gone bananas:
Hinata could, once again, “re-crown” Kageyama to signify a new chapter in Kageyama’s life like he did in the Ball Boy Arc, ...only with beach volleyball this time!! What better way to forever put that old, bitter “King of the Court” title behind him than to have Kags play on the Sand after having already played on the court for Team Japan?????
So long story short, I def wouldn’t mind if all this heavy-handedness was just a fun way to “throw us off the scent” and Oikawa happened to be in Rio to train under / meet with a Brazilian couch for indoor volleyball...or something. At least his knee doesn’t appear worse (you best believe I zoomed the hell in on that panel 😂), and maybe the Grand King could help our little Mandarin out with serving / setting before going on his merry way back to Japan and Iwaizumi. I mean, how long have we all been waiting to see Hinata jump serve?? Make it happen, Grand King! 🤞🏻
hm....link me to every sumeshi oikawa fanart that you can find!
