There's the sound of glass breaking in the background. He had forgotten all about this. So hearing the words from Ebner's mouth came as a shock to him.

"Huh???? Oh. Right. The favor I owe you... Wait, you're giving me a choice?"

Honestly, V was excited for the coffee date. Of course, he was a new medic for Mannco and wanted to learn everything he can. That opportunity came in the form of Dr. Ebner. They had met in passing, a brief nod at most. Well, it wasn't exactly a date per-say. Viktor just knew where the doctor got his coffee. It wasn't stalking! Just happened to see it as he was passing by through town.

The medic had freshly showered, shaved, combed his hair, and dressed in the best vest and button-up he could find in his closet. Now, he wasn't the most organized person in the world, but he'd been told he has a decent fashion sense. Looking in the mirror, he made sure he looked good enough and ran out the door.

The walk to the cafe was brisk. It wasn't too far from base, but he was eager to get there nonetheless. When he arrived, he quickly ordered an espresso and sat at a 2 seater, waiting for the man he intends to meet to come strolling in.

It only took about half an hour of waiting before he saw him. Once Dr. Ebner got up to order, Viktor made his move. Sliding up to the elder man, he pulled out his wallet.

"Whatever he is getting, I will be paying."

Hakuro stared at Ebner for a moment, pupils dilated, before he starts to slowly pull himself out of the rubble.

"Nahhhh...I...I fid...file...fiddle fickle...FINE. I'm ffffffffiiiine." He squeezed his eyes shut; his head was pounding something fierce. He has to get this thing of rebar out of his head, before the hallucinations start to kick in. Gods, he hated brain injuries, they make him feel both like shit and loopy as hell.

"Ffffffuuuuck...I'm ssssstart'n to see...to see tinyunicornshnowww..." He slurred again, flopping back onto his stomach. His hand limply going for the rebar, missing it a few times.

A flicker of light like a candle flame flutters closely to the shadow. fluttering right at Rico's face, there is warmth and then suddenly a shrill scream is heard. As Skan attempts to wake up Rico from his own shadow.

In the absolute darkness, the sudden light was painfully blinding. Rico flinched, the back of one hand flying instinctively up to his eyes to shield them. He was no less frightened and confused as he had been when he'd plunged into this pitch-black, dead-silent place. Up until now, he was starting to wonder if he'd died and was sent to some purgatory of infinite dark nothingness where he'd wander until he went mad. The light, sudden and painful as it was, was more then welcome- but not as welcome as the familiar warmth and even more familiar cry. Slipping one dagger into his belt, he reached up towards it, desperate and hopeful. "...mum...?"

“Nothing.” All wide-eyed and innocent, not sure if Dr. Ebner was the sort to fall for it. He was actually keeping two marshmallow-chocolate-chip cookies both hostage and hidden with the full intent on eating them in a moment. He was mostly sure he could out-manuever an old man like the doctor. 

“How come it looks different from the ones Rasturn has?” Charley shifts his weight, moving a few inches back, keeping his gaze steady on the man. “His seem better.”

Grumbling under his breath. Something about how Ebner seems to be always lurking nearby to taunt or tease him.

Ever since...that ill fated day with Doctor Ebner.... "I am always catching him reading that 'Shafting Shawn' book..."

He hides his reddening face in his hands and lets out a muffled groan.
