We really enjoyed visiting second grade students to share our summative tasks this week! We've been working very hard during our nonfiction unit to publish our own nonfiction books with a variety of nonfiction text features (informative paragraphs, table of contents, glossaries, captions, labels, headings, and more). Luckily, second grade was just beginning their nonfiction unit so we were able to answer their questions and help them start their own nonfiction books. They were fabulous students and they even provided us with useful feedback on our nonfiction books!

Here students are using iPads to visit authorized websites to find out more about the importance of the 3R's (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle). They are taking notes in their inquiry journals to use in their summative task--a book about the 3R's!
