Do you know what this is?
This is a capped Bee Tube!!!
Despite some trouble with early emergence, and earwigs invading the Haven, at least one of my bees has come home to roost! Inside this leafy hatted cardboard tube are anywhere between 4-10 baby leafcutter larvae cocoons!!! :0
Unfortunately because of our area, there's still a possibility of the earwigs coming back and eating the larvae, but I'll be setting up some news paper traps a little later today to tempt them away from the Haven.
It's even possible, with how warm it's been, that we'll get these little ones out and pollinating before the weather cools off!
Wish us luck!!
