A bit funny to do this during pride month, huh. Regardless, thank you @treshmind for tagging me for this!! Tumblr didn't give a notif but it did email me so, pog! As you said, I have a lot of candidates for this, but the one that kept coming to mind, for whatever reason, is my girl Summer River, so I took a moment to make her in a few picrews since it's been a while (YEARS) since I've drawn her humanoid form.

Summer River Nita Engle (1925-2019) Watercolor, 1983

Sometimes even in the north woods, summer days can be very hot. During a long, dry spell, when the brooks and streams are running low, the sun always seems hotter, and the woods have a parched look. A great contrast to this scene is the river behind my house. It is always about 20 degrees cooler there, and if you climb down the bank where the trees meet overhead, you are in a different world. It is like entering a green cave. The cool colors, the damp piney scents, the sounds and splashes of the moving stream—every sense is refreshed. Many small woods creatures come here—a beaver may swim by, sometimes even a deer or two. On one such hot day I was fishing downstream when I heard the large splashing of another fisherman fishing up. No angler is too happy with a development like this. However, before I could move, I saw coming around the bend a bear on his hind legs, fishing or just splashing. I never found out as I was gone—scrambling up the bank with 50 feet of line wrapped around my boots and every bush and tree along the way. When I finally looked back, I saw him scrambling just as fast up the opposite bank. That day I decided to stay inside and painted this watercolor. - N. Engle
