hey everyone! when i first started this blog last august, i never, in my wildest dreams, thought i would have 500 people following me, caring about my writing, and making some really close friends. but here you all are and i want to thank you all! i thought we could have a nice extended summer sleepover to celebrate and get to know each other better!!!

i have an extended four day weekend starting Thursday through Sunday. so, shoot me some asks! (you can start sending them now, i just won’t start responding until Thursday) and if you aren’t sure what to ask or need some help with an ice breaker or two, never fear! i am here!

17. “I can’t sleep, can I stay here?”

A light tapping on your window had startled you as you hurriedly sat up in your bed pulling the sheets up into your chest letting out a breath of relief once you saw it was Rafe.

“Hey, what are you doing here?” you asked once you finally got the window open allowing him to climb through.

“I can’t sleep, can I stay here?” his voice was small as you nodded intertwining your fingers with his, you led him towards the bed where he carefully laid down beside you, his muscly arms falling around your waist as he buried his head in the nape of your neck.

“I love you” he whispered pulling you even closer into his chest, your heart fluttering at his words, it was the first time he’d said it.

“I love you too” you smiled turning around in his arms so you could place a small kiss on his lips, before burying yourself in his chest his chin resting on top of your head his quite breaths quickly lulling you into a deep slumber.

The retro-style toy stands 3.75" tall, has five points of articulation, and includes a beer bottle and drive-in speaker. Scheduled to ship in October, this version is an open edition but could sell out during the pre-order window.

🍦hello let me tell you about the two books that have ingrained themselves into my brain for the past two years! The Nix by Nathan Hill and The Girls by Emma Cline are both kinda sorta based on true events but are both fiction!

The Nix is about family relations and specifically between mother and son. The mother commits a politically charged crime and the son has to grapple between the view of the woman he knows as his absent mother and the woman she is outside of motherhood. It got me hooked in like 10 pages and i wrote an essay for it in school like 3 yrs ago. SO GOOD!

The Girls is about a fictional woman who was mixed in with the Family (Charlie Manson and co) before they committed their crimes in the 60’s. I’ve heard people have mixed feelings about the book but i absolutely love it!

I’ve been trying to read more this year and have ordered a ton of books that i’ll read this summer, so if you have any recommendations i’ll gladly take them!

🍦 i absolutely LOVED “The Girls” (yay same taste!) i read it maybe a year ago and was hooked from the very first line. and i will have to check out “The Nix”, because it sounds so good!

🍦 my book recs for you is “Girls on Fire” by Robin Wasserman. a popular football player is found dead in the local woods and the book follows two teenage girls and the fallout of the incident. when i first finished reading it, my thought was just “what the shit did i just read” but in the best way possible!

🍦 the second rec for you is “The Alienist” by Caleb Carr. this one follows a psychologist in the 1890’s as he attempts to solve a series of grisly murders with the help of a newspaper illustrator and the first female employee of the NYPD. it was recently turned into a TV series as well!
