He cannot help but laugh loudly at her small slip up. “Do not fret, my lady. I understand your true meaning.” But to add just a little fat to the flames he closes the space between them and kisses her flushed cheek.
Turning to the vendor he points to the boots on his feet. “I shall take these, thank you. Your craftsmanship is excellent. I shall have to take a pair home to my brother-kind and sister-queen. They will be delighted to have such warm comforts in the winter.”
More than a little embarrassed by her slip, she raised her hand to the place on her face where his lips had just been, feeling warmth raise through them as if there was a fire beneath her naturally cooler skin. She turned then, suddenly intent on a pair of women's boots on the other side of the stand so as not to let him see the blush that flushed her cheeks, ears and neck.
She paid the vendor once again, nodding in agreement as the colour began to fade out of her face - not quick enough, if she had any say in it, but that was that - and she focused on his words. "Most of the women's boots tend not to have the upturned tip and tend to have embroidery used in place as their fashion. Unless you plan on leaving tomorrow, perhaps the search for gifts can wait so we can continue?"
