boarded up beach stands and water so cold that the waves crash white

echoes of the summer living in the falling leaves 

wishing you’d never had to leave this place 

because coming here feels like coming home

and the dark roads where you have to watch for deer might as well lead straight to your foggy heart 

and the farm that has the best mozzarella you’ve ever had sells giant pumpkins in the fall

and that little familiar italian restaurant has food that tastes like a home cooked meal

where the wind seems to be calling you back
