Inktober Day 1: Dream
I can’t promise I’ll do all of Inktober, and definitely if I do, it won’t all be painted. 1) I … do not like how the paint here turned out. And 2) it took a long time to do the paint. I think maybe I’ll just… sketch more. :) and maybe someday, I can redo this painting. I love what I have in my head.

Any ideas for medium for an oil painter that can be easy to just sit down with and WON’T make me want to pull my hair out?
(Maybe I’m just being dramatic. I might get used to acrylics eventually. I’m not used to needing to remember a background before the foreground though…)
Deventer in the Rain
Originally I didn’t want to post this, because I don’t think it’s very good. This is my first real time getting back into watercolors. I want to sketch with watercolors every day, because they can be so loose and free and oil painting, while I love it, is often so tight, it can be a little tiring. I’ll be doing inktober with all watercolor sketches, so I’m warming up. Maybe someday I’ll come back and redo it. <3
I took the reference photograph when me and my partner went to visit Deventer, NL for the Boekenmarkt. Even though it was pouring rain, it was a wonderful experience, and they had all these umbrellas strung up between buildings. I thought it was the cutest thing ever.
A little sketch during a quiet moment on a walk in Veluwezoom, when the bushes are fully in purple blooms. Didn’t get to finish the watercolor, but I really like it anyway~
