Yesterday I went to yoga specifically to go to this one specific class led by this one specific teacher. · But I got there and it was a different teacher and I was like, shit - can I just leave? Like how rude is that, really? · And then I ended up staying because laying down in that cool, dark yoga room was so much more appealing than going back out into the oven. · So, I stayed. · And the class was brilliant. The teacher was so kind and gentle. Soft spoken, but in a powerful, intentional way. · She wasn't as touchy feely as some teachers, but I still felt very nurtured. Her presence was so peaceful and sweet. · The music she played was soft, and more often than not - the room was completely silent. The total opposite of the class I was used to going to. · And that was really perfect. She ended up leading us into the juiciest and most comfortable restorative yoga pose I think I've ever been in. And she had us stay there for a long time. And it was totally silent - not even a quiet little track of chanting in the background, not even noise from people milling about outside the studio. · Just totally perfect silence. · I am so glad I stayed, and now I have a new favorite teacher, the list keeps growing. Her name is Nan and she teaches at Metta Wednesday's @ 4:30pm and Saturday's @ 8am. · · #summerofyoga #mettamoment2017 #yoga #restorativeyoga #summer #silence (at Metta Yoga)
