The sun was brutal yesterday when we were canvassing. It was hot, and I was thankful that I got a flat turf! I had sunscreen on my arms, but it wasn’t enough. After my post-canvassing shower and lunch, I went shopping for long-sleeved shirts made with sun-protective fabric. I had discovered REI a few years ago and really liked their clothes, but I don’t like going to that store at the Tucson Mall. The parking is weird, and there are all those steps on the outside and on the inside of the store. It’s not well-designed. More recently, I discovered that locally owned Summit Hut on Speedway has the same brands of clothes for basically the same prices. The store is much more accessible, and the staff helpful. They had a huge variety of SPF 40 and up clothes. It’s great that we have all these volunteers helping us with canvassing, but please be sun safe. The woman who worked with me yesterday had no hat, no sunglasses and no walking shoes. She was a trooper, though. Be careful, stay covered up or stay inside for the hottest part of the day. #sunhat #sunsafe #sunsafety #sunscreen #summithut #summithuttucson (at Tucson, Arizona)
