It’s a bit late in the game given the card is two weeks away but the UFC has completed its Beijing showcase with one more Chinese fighter. They’ve signed a guy named Sumudaerji whose record ranges from 7-1 to 10-2 depending on where you look. Whatever the case may or may not be, the 19 year old HAS to be among the youngest fighters currently on the UFC roster. He gets the privilege of welcome back Louis Smolka at bantamweight.
Matt Schnell survives getting hurt 10x in 2 minutes, stops Sumudaerji in the 2nd!
That second round is going to be a round of the year contender. After a back and forth first that Schnell ultimately, got the better of, Sumudaerji rocked Schnell something like 15 times in the span of 2 minutes. Straight left hands down the pipe and elbows from wrist control had Schnell on skates. He even went down once. But somehow, Schnell continued to just swing back. Then he lands a stiff right hand, takes Sumudaerji and hammers him from mount for like a minute. Sumudaerji manages to reverse position and get on top but gets caught in a triangle and goes out. Absolutely insane sequence of events.
Sumudaerji All Knock Out (Tibetan Eagle)
By: Ngawang Tsering
Tibet’s Sumudaerji (13-4) is has looked great in his last two bouts, taking a UD over Andre Soukhamthath and KO of Malcolm Gordon. He’s set for a quick turnaround as he’s set to face off with Zarrukh Adashev (3-2) at UFC Fight Night: Magny vs Chiesa this Wednesday (Jan. 20).
Sumudaerji vs Zelimkhan Makaev - WLF W.A.R.S. 23
I’m not sure what to think of Chinese prospect Sumudaerji (12-4). Dude got to the UFC off a loss after a relatively weak schedule of regional fighters. Took a submission loss to Louis Smolka (no shame) but rebounded with a great performance against Andre Soukhamthath. Now he’s moving down to flyweight.
I’m hoping he builds off of that win cause his style is really fun. He’ll be fighting Malcolm Gordon (12-4) this Saturday (Nov. 28) at UFC Fight Night Blaydes vs Lewis.
