Crystals
Sano Crystals are metaphysical healing devices often utilized in Millennium City. Due to the nature of injuries (that are most often lethal), citizens resort to these crystals to avoid excessive death tolls during calamities and such. They're from another dimension called Solomon's Realm and are harvested from crystal caves native to that dimension in which these naturally grow with their unusual regenerative qualities.
They do not heal all injuries back to perfection, but will boost and speed up the healing process of those in skin to crystal contact with them. Results tend to vary, some major injuries heal with regeneration of a limb and some don't. Some scar and some don't. It appears highly randomized. However, the size of the crystal does determine the severity of the injury the crystal can successfully heal. Smaller heals more minor injury while larger heals more major injury.
The crystals hold their blue luminescent energy glow until they're used up. At which time they seem to be similar to simple clear quartz crystal. They are often recycled by the locals into Sun Crystals.
It has been discovered that putting Sanos under extreme heat or breaking them will cause them to explode with their natural energies. They can be shaped and 'carved' like other gems, but extremely special attention must be paid to natural cracks and 'grains'. As disrupting the natural 'pattern' of the crystal structure will cause the violent energy expulsion that causes powerful explosions.
Sun Crystals are simple use of a clear quartz crystal and solar-related magic. With the proper engravings and/or concentration circles, the crystals are made enabled to collect and internalize the rays of the sun's light. The longer they're left in direct sunlight, the more they absorb and hold. Making them useful in a fight with beings whom are sunlight sensitive such as some forms of vampires and sogyiyas.
They are wrapped in white cloths with protective spells embroidered into the fabric which acts as a way to contain the concentrated sunlight they give off once done being charged with it.
Intensity and duration of their luminescence varies upon charging times.
They are often, in the city, made with recycled Sano Crystals as they seem to hold sunlight better than ordinary Terran quartz. Frequently they are rounded off and made pocket sized as well.
Both crystals are collected/crafted by Alan Devang. Rune Salazar has been known to make his own Sun Crystals and Scott Holt is a supplier of the Sano Crystals that come directly from Solomon's Realm.
