☀️ The Sun ☀️
The sun is a giant celestial orb residing in the center of our cosmic system, playing an important role of keeping the planets in place with its gravitational pull and providing our planet with the energy it requires in order to sustain life.
The sun produces such massive amounts of energy that the light and heat radiating from it extends outside of its surface and illuminates everything within its radius. The same can be said about its role in a person’s astrological makeup. The sun represents the soul that lies at the core essence of our being. The gravitational pull of the sun can be translated into the willpower and drive we possess, while the amount of energy we contain either illuminates out onto the outer world or shines dimmer for the most part depending on the signs and relationships between it and other planets of your chart.
Think of it from a plants perspective. They gravitate and grow towards the sun and light, and through the process of photosynthesis they feed off of it. If the sun was to go out the plants would start to curl up and eventually die from the lack of sunlight. The same could be happening with our souls. If we do not feed it light and energy we will slowly begin to feel drained and powerless, our ego will diminish and with it our self-esteem. We will lose our purpose and meaning, our spark, our hope and even our life force which could be detrimental to our overall health and well-being. The sun is where we can draw our strength and confidence from, how we can recharge our internal battery.
The sun is essentially the leader of the solar system. It is the most important aspect in your chart but it is by no means what defines your whole self, more so what powers it. It represents higher authority, royalty, male influences, the heart and the consciousness. The sun is most associated with a persons true identity, self-expression and creative potential. The ego of an individual. What you show the world and how you see the world.
The sign the sun was in during your time of birth signifies the qualities that represent your personality.
The house your sun was in shows what area of your life the sun powers the most and where your essence is most present.
If the sun is imbalanced or weakly aspected it could signify areas in your life that requires attention. If other planets are negatively interfering with the sun’s energies it could cause you to feel drained and powerless as well as manifesting destructive energies such as becoming egotistical, arrogant, childish or boastful. It could also mean there’s lessons to be learned in this area as it could signify karmic cycles that need to be tended to as it could potentially be passed down, until eventually it is broken. By looking at the challenges the sun presents and gaining awareness of them we can transform the hardships into strength and power. Any planets close to or conjunct the sun add another layer of personality with the help of its illuminating rays.
