How to guess rising signs (my process explained) ˚˖𓍢ִ໋❀
paid readings | tip jar | m.list
I’ve talked about my method on my blog before but I’d like to give some more context. When I was watching interviews one day, I started noticing that some people just felt like certain rising signs before I ever saw their charts. Like their energy, the way they moved, spoke, reacted and how it all matched specific ascendant archetypes almost too well. So I started testing it, refining it, and it actually became one of the easiest ways for me to guess rising signs pretty accurately!
So here’s how I do it:
Gerard Way — SUN CHART ANALYSIS
Btw, this is just about his sun placement. I’m way too lazy to change the “chart” part so…bear with me.
Aries suns are fundamentally raw about their identity and Gerard is inseparable from how he represents himself. The sign is ruled by mars, so there’s a drive automatically built in their system when it comes down to: how to act, initiate action and be the first. Don’t get confused, this placement isn’t all about impulsivity even if the general intention to do so is there. Translating that over to Gerard, he needs to get things done creatively when something just clicks. That makes me wonder if that’s the reason why he carries so many pens (well, he genuinely likes them anyway lol).
Then, this headfirst (for halos,,, ha!) energy… where does it show up in him? Well, since the sun is part of his general identity, he doesn’t sit around and wait for something to define him per say. Each era he has gone through in his life, whether it’s bullets or black parade, it’s a full embodiment of who he is and who he is becoming– each stage is new growth. His choices in his career have always had this personal touch to them and it’s because he feels this strong connection between himself and his work. That’s why even when he soloed, his work still had this similar effect; he generally trusts himself more than other outside influences. So, see where he gets this frontman vibe from?
But each time he puts his work out there, it almost feels like a giant risk. Aries aren’t tough as they are stereotypically made out to be– they can be quite the sensitive sign sometimes, and even more so in identity. Gerard works his level of sensitivity each time he puts out a work and it’s almost at the same time, coming at him as being confrontational with himself. While he can be proud of what he has done, there’s still that unease that he revealed something that was his to the world. But what justifies this, I imagine, is that at least he’s being real and truthful to his extent.
And that’s exactly where his 10th house comes in, because someone like Gerard, his sense of self is being revealed to the whole world. Since the themes of the house are about public life, image, legacy, the role you play in society– then it’s no surprise his identity gets pushed out into the public. He will always be in the public eye in some shape or form even if he’s not literally seen as active. He’s too well known. There’s this calling he always meant to answer, where he puts stuff out there and it’s all sincerely done in his name and made pretty much mainstream. All his performances, comics, work, shows, etc are the building blocks you can put together to make him.
Being honest, not everything is authentic but it’s to be expected. He’s still a reserved man at the end of the day so he doesn’t put his entire being into the public eye because then, that would almost feel like public scrutiny to him even when it’s not. While I mentioned you see his growth in each era, every time it only gets a bit more curated. Really, one of the most authentic eras of his is bullets. I’m sure with his house placement, he deeply acknowledges what he is leaving is a legacy and it makes him snap into a professional position because he just can’t reveal that much. His work and personal life still need to be two different things, not be conjoined. His work has to have strong significance because it will leave a mark on the world otherwise, it feels more like a passion project. That’s genuinely why touching anything MCR, specifically with music, it’s left untouched because it’s like a masterpiece. That is what he wants to be remembered for and it just can’t be messed with… not to say there won’t be an MCR5 (never say never) but it seems very unlikely.
Connecting these pieces, that impulsivity we did last talk about may seem like it wanes here but not really. If anything, it just seems amplified but in a visible manner. Basically, when his mind says “go” then that go is seen publicly because it just has to be seen. So instead of quietly keeping things away from the public, he leads with his personality, sets the tones and allows people to explore them to a degree because it’s like a public statement that transforms his reputation. That’s why he still communicated so much through Twitter or tidbits he gave during concerts. There’s still parts he needs to allow to glow.
Kind of controversial in the astrology community but I still feel like it’s important to note degrees. Skip this if you want, but it’s just general degree theory stuff.
Degrees are like a sub-influence, like the underlying tone of a placement and I suppose more of an explanation for things. For Gerard, his sun is at 19° which lands in the third decan of Aries, meaning it’s associated with Sagittarius energy. This means, there’s more to his vision and meaning to his work than most people think. He’s creating something bigger and combining himself to it and turning into “this is who I am, this what I made and I’m proud of it.”
Again, his work is never surface level unless he lacks incredible creativity. So Aries pushes him to act, express himself very outwardly and show out but Sagittarius takes that and makes him do something with it. It’s time to run and go, Aries suns and Sagittarius goes. There is a strong meaning behind each piece of work and that’s why we see this almost philosophical, deep tone in his big works. Even, for example, bullets or revenge seem like hectic in a way– there was a bigger idea carried throughout because Gerard wanted something wider, something people can latch onto which helps him jump toward expansion and I think that’s what really defines him at his core. With this kind of Aries-Sagittarius blend, he’s not just creating to express himself, he’s creating to understand himself and then reflect that back outward in a way that other people can feel too.
And that’s where I feel like people kind of misunderstand him sometimes. There’s this assumption that because he’s so expressive and bold in his work, that must mean he’s fully open or completely transparent as a person but that’s not really the case. If anything, it feels more like he channels the most intense parts of himself into what he creates so that he doesn’t have to lay it all out plainly in real life. So his identity becomes very real, very raw, but also… filtered through art. That way, he still maintains control over what’s his and what belongs to the public.
When I look at him as a whole, he’s someone who had to become himself publicly, who had to take all that intensity, sensitivity, and vision, and turn it into something tangible. And even now, it doesn’t feel finished. It may feel like he’s still in the process of becoming, just more refined, more selective, and more aware of what each move actually means for the bigger picture he’s leaving behind.
Moving on to his aspects, we’ll talk about his Sun conjunct Venus in Aries in the 10th house. Since the Sun talks about his identity, then Venus talks about his aesthetics, artistry, love and more on his behavior. Conjunctions are about unifying the traits of both planets, so when he creates things it has this attraction to it. It pulls people in, almost charming them in a sense no matter what it is. Venus pretty much makes him likable and memorable and I’d even say emotionally resonant, which explains why his work connects with people strongly. And since Venus is in aries, it amplifies it by bringing in this massive level of passion and the immediate want to create. Then the fact it’s in the 10th house, people see him as the creator of his own world (not to say he’s god, but people do tend to see him as this figure of what is the genre of emo). Again, you can see why he’s put in this sort of vulnerable position because even his side of affection, love and taste are put on a platter.
About his work, we can tell it’s cinematic, conceptual and has a level of emotionality to it. I believe what aspect has a level of a hold to it is Sun trine Neptune in Sagittarius in the 5th house. It’s the biggest indicator that he brings his imagination, art and blurs it with reality, evening it out and making it flow nicely. The trine makes it favorable in a way that makes him tap into his creativity and storytelling, so he’s not forcing it… think of it as his second nature if that makes sense. Sagittarius in the 5th house just adds to the meaning of his work mentioned before, but it just makes it bigger than you think. He performs it, attaches meaning to it that he believes can bring a level of change to the world because it feels like it’s viewing him in anticipation. That’s why he can be theatrical and work with symbolism, even a level of escapism. We can even tell why some fans may project onto his work so easily because Neptune kind of dissolves clean boundaries and that’s why his art becomes something others can see themselves in.
I think that’s why in his sun aspects, I like the fact that he has his Sun trine Saturn in Leo 2nd house. This aspect keeps him from his work being undoing, keeps him sane in a way. Without it, a lot of his public life would feel incredibly overwhelming and could’ve caused him to step out way earlier, like bullets could’ve been his final work. Since Saturn is about structure, discipline and sense of responsibility then mixing with the Sun, we get someone who has to build something long lasting with himself. He has a backbone when it comes to his creativity which refines and controls what he does. That’s probably why he’s so careful of what kind of legacy he leaves behind, his Saturn and 2nd house is making him choose what is worthy of seeing because it represents him in the long term.
There’s this kind of tension between who he is publicly and privately. Since his Sun is opposite Pluto in Libra 4th house, he feels intensity in his home life which traces back to childhood. So while his Sun will always want to be visible and present, Pluto makes look inwards and makes him want to be more private. You can see the ongoing theme of, well my hand is cold so I’ll warm them up by this fire but if I get too close, I’ll get burned.
That’s why I kind of see this tension within him that becomes a little more obvious with his Cancer rising squaring his Sun. That alone creates a contradiction within himself, because he doesn’t want to be fully public. It’s easy to understand why he can come off as more guarded, observant and emotionally aware of things. Squares are about tensions with both placements and it’s not to say he’s not bold, because he can be– he just sometimes hesitates to get there because he feels a need to protect himself. I believe that’s why he sometimes rarely shows up to things unless he knows he has some kind of leverage in the first place. Basically, his Sun wants to be seen and known but rising makes him go “but at what cost?” So there’s a big push and pull of revealing and protecting.
Some of that same tension is carried toward his Descendant in Capricorn which also squares his Sun. The way he interacts with others, especially those close to him, is seen as more serious and even reserved. It takes him time to open up, and he needs the right foundation for it whether it’s trust or stability, even both. It’s conflicting because his Sun wants to express things, say what’s in head but he gets held back because he doesn’t know how it’ll be received. He likely has strict boundaries about his connections because he’s thinking of the sustainability and the level of control he has. He’s not necessarily controlling, he just needs to feel like he’s not losing with what he’s revealing and again, makes him vulnerable.
Then the North Node in Libra in the 4th opposing his Sun adds a whole other layer that honestly explains a lot of his life direction. The Sun in Aries in the 10th is: “this is me, this is what I’m doing, this is what I’m known for,” while the North Node is pulling him toward something much more private, balanced, and emotionally rooted. It’s like his growth isn’t actually about pushing himself further into the spotlight, but learning how to create peace, stability, and genuine connection away from it. There’s almost a karmic feeling here where he can’t just be the public figure forever, he has to develop that inner life, that sense of home, that softer side of himself that isn’t defined by his career or identity.
To end this off, I was looking at other asteroids and found that he has Fan (151590) conjunct his Sun in Aries in the 10th is kind of… on the nose. Like it almost feels too literal. His identity (Sun), in the house of public image (10th), in a sign that naturally draws attention (Aries), being directly tied to something that represents an audience or following? It just reinforces the idea that being seen, being admired, and having people connect to him is intertwined with who he is in this lifetime. Not even in a superficial way, but in a way where his existence naturally gathers attention and forms a following. It’s like his identity activates that response in people without him necessarily trying to force it.
Putting all of this together, he seems to me like someone who is constantly balancing his exposure with protection, independence with connection and public identity vs his private life.
And I feel like that’s the most accurate way to understand him. It’s not just “he puts himself out there”, it’s that every time he does, there’s a whole internal process behind it deciding how much, in what way, and what it means for him long-term.

Debilitated Sun
Sometimes you don't have to see a chart to see if one has weak sun or not.
Here are some signs of weak/afflicted sun-
1. Cannot wake up in the morning consistently. Here the word consistently is used because they cannot do it everyday which brings me to the 2nd point.
2. Find it hard to develop daily habits. They don't lack the will, they just are not interested in proving themselves to anyone. A king who isn't interested in sitting on the throne or to meet people daily but is wandering in gardens or sleeping in his chambers is a WEAK KING!
3. They will not walk with a broad stance. Always cowering or finding places in the crowd to hide themselves.
4. Weak Immunity and low mood. (Vitamin D deficiency)
5. Father doesn't have a good reputation in the public or is absent, sick sometimes early death.
6. Will always be noticed by people even if the native himself lacks the confidence as 7th house sun will be giving light to the 1st house- the lagna/rising.
7. Relationships will only work if native stops looking for a father figure/protector in life especially for female natives. They have to become their own husband before finding one.
8. You can have a good marriage with the sun in the 7th house but it is advisable to go for marriage in your late 30s as by then Sun's intensity on the 7th house would have cooled down and also SATURN gets its maturity. Saturn is exalted in libra (natural 7th house sign) so any person by their 30s have had a lot of experience to understand the difference between EGO & SELF RESPECT.
CAN STRONG SUN GIVE GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILL AS PER VEDIC ASTROLOGY
Vedic astrology is very complex and so its understanding is very important to deduce an outcome.
In a vedic horoscope there is karak / significator planet and functional planet for communication. The karak / significator planet of communication is mercury and its same for all the horoscope BUT the functional planet of communication keeps on changing from horoscope to horoscope as per the placement of the planet.
All the 9 planets can become a functional planet for communication in a horoscope as per their placement in that horoscope.
So sun can become a functional planet for communication in a horoscope and a strong positive significance of the sun will definitely give good results as per its significance.
The manifestation of a planet in a horoscope is dependent on the time of delivery of that event, controlled by the mahadasha ruling planet.
The mahadasha gives an event during its ruling period which is promised in its significance. The event can get activated only when its promised in the horoscope level, otherwise even if mahadasha is signifying that event in its significance, the event won’t happen.
Mahadasha period is further divided into many more sub sub sub division periods of planets.
So academically it can be said that if one acts in the good activation period of his / her planet, will give good results. BUT IN PRACTICAL IT IS NOT POSSIBLE.
So a good planet sun may be strong for communication skill and so over all impact will be good but for everyday one can only predict about overall in a broad picture because the mahadasha period is the time of delivery of an event and the time is divided into so many division that having a check on every division which will be of seconds ruled by a planet is not possible.
And if the ruling planet for the smallest division of the mahadasha time which could be seconds is not signifying good results and an individual acts on that period will not yield good results.
So sun can be a strong planet for communication in a horoscope and its manifestation depends on the significances of the sun in that horoscope and that could be good or bad as per the placement in that horoscope.
SUN EFFECT IN 7,8 AND 12TH HOUSE AS PER VEDIC ASTROLOGY
In Vedic astrology, the Sun represents the soul, ego, vitality, authority, and father figure. When placed in so-called "challenging" or dusthana houses like the 7th, 8th, or 12th, its natural qualities can be tested or transformed.
Below is an overview of the common effects of the Sun in each of these houses:
Sun in the 7th House – House of Partnerships and Marriage
Challenges:
Ego Clashes in Relationships: The Sun is a strong individualistic planet, while the 7th house is about union and cooperation. This can cause dominance issues or ego battles in marriage.
Strained Marital Life: May lead to delayed or troubled marriages; the native may come off as overbearing to their partner.
Public Image Issues: The 7th is also the house of public perception. Sun here may make the person too concerned about appearances or status in relationships.
Health Issues: Since the 7th opposes the Ascendant (self), vitality might be impacted.
Positives (if well placed or exalted):
Strong, charismatic partner or spouse.
Leadership qualities in business partnerships.
Fame or recognition through public interaction.
Sun in the 8th House – House of Transformation, Death, Secrets
Challenges:
Struggles with Identity or Ego: The 8th house governs hidden matters; the Sun here can result in a mysterious personality, inner conflicts, or sudden ego-related crises.
Strained Relationship with Father: The father may be absent, mysterious, or have health issues.
Health Problems: Can indicate chronic or sudden health issues due to weakened vitality.
Financial Instability: Especially with joint finances, inheritance, or in-laws.
Positives (if well placed or aspected):
Interest or success in occult, mysticism, or psychology.
Transformative experiences leading to spiritual growth.
Inheritance or gains through marriage or partnerships.
Sun in the 12th House – House of Loss, Foreign Lands, Liberation
Challenges:
Low Self-Esteem or Identity Issues: The Sun, representing ego and self-worth, gets "dissolved" in the 12th. This can lead to introversion or self-doubt.
Isolation or Foreign Connections: Can indicate residence abroad, isolation (monasteries, hospitals, or prisons), or disconnection from family.
Expenses and Losses: May indicate high expenses or difficulties saving money.
Spiritual Crisis: Can bring a deep inner conflict between material ego and spiritual surrender.
Positives (if spiritually inclined or in good dignity):
Great for spiritual pursuits, meditation, or work behind the scenes.
Can indicate success abroad or in foreign companies.
Deep empathy and humanitarian outlook.
Additional Considerations:
Apart from the above general predictions of sun being in 7,8 or 12th house in a vedic birth chart / horoscope, one also need to consider some other parameters which is also very important as it will also contribute to give change in the overall impact.
Sign Placement: A Sun in Leo in the 12th is far more empowered than Sun in Libra in the 10th.
Aspects and Conjunctions: Benefic or malefic influences (e.g., Jupiter vs. Saturn or Rahu) significantly modify outcomes.
Nakshatra: The lunar mansion the Sun is placed in adds depth to interpretation.
Dasha Periods: The effects are most felt during the Sun Mahadasha or Antardasha.
