"We're not gonna make it," Eddie sighs, fingers tapping against the steering wheel. They could have expected this to happen, he supposes, but it kind of feels like the universe conspiring against them

They have been stuck in traffic for at least an hour now, and Buck is starting to get a little agitated, the long line of cars moving only a few feet at a time.

"Maddie's going to kill us, and it's all your fault," Buck says, hand moving nervously over the fabric of his slacks stretched over his thighs. "She told us we had to be on time, I even planned everything out so we would be, and then you..."

"No offense to your sister," Eddie interrupts him as he checks over his shoulder if Chris is still wearing his headphones. "But from what I remember, she showed up two hours later than she agreed to on our wedding day and snuck off early to bang Chimney in a supply closet somewhere."

Buck sighs, but a grin breaks through as he says: "That's fair, I guess we've got plans for later then, don't you think?"
