Today is a great day to talk about the benefits of the sun. 🌞 It is #nationalparkweek, go visit one and soak up a few rays. When natural sunlight hits the skin it triggers the body's production of vitamin D. Vitamin D is also known as “the sunshine vitamin.” It is a crucial ingredient for overall health; protects against inflammation, lowers high blood pressure, helps muscles, improves brain function and may even protect against cancer. It also helps you take in and use certain minerals, like calcium and phosphorus. Regular sun exposure is the most natural way to get enough vitamin D. To maintain healthy blood levels, aim to get 10–30 minutes of midday sunlight, several times per week. People with darker skin may need a little more than this. Can we live without the sun? Although some microorganisms living in the Earth's crust would survive, the majority of life would enjoy only a brief post-sun existence. Photosynthesis would halt immediately, and most plants would die in a few weeks. Remember… be smart, slowly build up your sun bathing. To much of a good thing may not be good at all. #sun #sunbenefits #vitamind #sunshine #happiness #naturalbenefits #yourhealth #pathhc https://www.instagram.com/p/Bwon0A5gLRv/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7ui32rg58x7y
