In December 2016 one of my projects was selected for a @Sundanceorg Institue documentary development workshop. It helped tremendously, helping me to see my project in another way and to understand the Sundance process, one of the top festivals in the country. Everything is closed down now due covid-19, but Sundance continues outreach to Indie content creators. Specifically tailored for South Florida creatives, they're holding submissions for a special master class on short films via their online platform #SundanceCollab. I was a beta participant in Sundance Collab and trust me, it's an excellent resource full of information, advice, masterclasses, workshops and more.
