“Why don’t you tell me how the hell you got into my apartment, again?” Jenna said as she picked up the groceries she had dropped. Maybe Diego was right, she should lock her windows. She raised an eyebrow as he told her everything was going to be fine. ”What did you do, Klaus?”
“Oh, your window was unlocked.” He shrugged. Climbing up hadn’t even been that hard - maybe all the training Sir Reginald had given them hadn’t been a complete waste, after all, he thought to himself. “Me? I didn’t do anything. Why would you say that?”
He laughed, but his laugh was nervous, and his eyes kept drifting to the street below them. “But hypothetically, what would you say if I told you I got in some trouble and there was a group of very angry, very violent people chasing me here, and maybe I didn’t do a very good job of losing them before I climbed up? You know, hypothetically.” There was a sound of sirens in the background, and Klaus flinched. “Oh, and they’re here for me, too. Hypothetically.”
