CLAWS 2: Kotaru v. Reyson
“It seems that Prince Reyson didn’t get too badly hurt yesterday. I hope the same holds true today.”
"I understand that the herons are supposed to be a peaceful tribe, but that doesn’t mean Reyson can’t hold his own, as he proved to us yesterday. Will Kotaru be able to overcome that?”

Kotaru lunges forward to strike, but Reyson takes flight, with massive white wings bringing him high in the air above. Perhaps too high... as he tries to make a downward strike, he swings too far down and misses.
Kotaru Strike 2: 12 ATT / NAT 20 DEF Critical Opening: 19 ATT / 16 DEF Reyson Strike 2: 11 ATT (FAVOR bonus) / 10 DEF Kotaru reverts back to human form.
Kotaru jumps, making a large clawing sweep for Reyson’s leg, but the heron manages to dodge once more and surprises Kotaru by landing on her back momentarily in his defense, getting a strike in with his long beak. In a moment of surprise at his own success, Reyson sinks his talons into the dragon’s thick hide, giving a few kicks and getting another hit in. Kotaru is startled by this and reverts back to their human form.

Undeterred by their reverted form, Kotaru grabs for Reyson’s legs to pull the prince back down, but they don’t make it. Instead, they leave themselves open for Reyson to deliver another kick to Kotaru’s shoulder. As Reyson flies back up and tries to make another dive, he misses, though, and has to recover to keep himself from crashing into the ground.

Kotaru makes a calculated move to grab the heron’s long tail, but just as they get their hands around the bird, the feathers slip through Kotaru’s grasp, and they come away with only a loose feather and a disgruntled sigh. Reyson tries to strike with his beak, though, and Kotaru sidesteps so quickly that they have an opening to grapple the heron’s beak! They try, but Reyson breaks away at the last moment.

Kotaru Bonus Strike: 14 ATT / 8 DEF
Kotaru is winded but still holding their own and keeping Reyson on the ropes. Another attempted tackle is made, but while Kotaru misses, they do force the heron off-course and prevent him from getting in another hit.
In Kotaru’s final moments of the fight, they manage to grab Reyson’s leg and roughly pull him down to the ground. There’s a chance Reyson’s leg is now twisted, and he surely has bruises from his impact with the ground, but the final bell tolls, marking the end of the fight before clerics rush in to make sure no one is seriously hurt.
