Sungrass my beloved 💛
This is @idlingmoons OC, I did it a few days ago for art fight
If Sungrass liked someone, would he present them with flowers or things he grows in his farm?
oh, certainly!
he'd grow the flowers they'd like in his garden and give it to said person he likes. other than flowers they like, he'd try to grow flowers all year around with meanings that reflect how he feels about them.
in regards to things he grows in his small farm, he'd only give the freshest produce to the person he likes if they have any interest in cooking. otherwise, he cooks for them or he keeps it separate to sell
Sungrass!
Finally finished my half of an art trade with @zealouslynx ! This is her dragon OC, with a flower crown of Heartblossom and Sungrass <3
Sungrass
A bright, cheery, and lemonscented grass common to Centaur settlements in Thousand needles.
Colloquial names: Mesa Shimmer, Maiden Hair, Spun Gold
Physical Description: Sungrass originates from the rocky red mesas of Thousand Needles. It was likely first an intentionally cultivated hybrid of the region’s grasses, imbued with some degree of elementalism by the Centaur tribes native to the land. During the shattering, the region was flooded. It was thought that the airy, buoyant seeds shed by the grass floated from the ravines, as it now grows plentifully on the rim of the flooded canyon, lining it almost entirely.
The Galak Centaur that have relocated from Splithoof Hold to Spilthoof Watch to the east grow “gardens” of this herb.
It is a good mark of Centaur territory in the region, yellow, bright patches giving way to tanned hide tents along the bank. The herb itself is a bright, wavy clump of golden grass blades. The blades begin their life as a pure shining yellow-gold, fading to a yellowy green as they age. Large patches of the grass gleam a splendid gold, a welcome contrast to the parched rock of the Needles. The grass grows knee-height, and when flowering, it is usually recognized by the nose before the eyes. A faint trace of floral lemon perfumes the dry, hot air of the land where Sungrass is present. The knowledge of how to use this herb was thought to have been gleaned from the Centaur to the Tauren tribes of the mesa, eventually making its way into modern alchemy by various adventurers and scientists.
Described Usage: Sungrass is an odd herb for Centaurs to cultivate at first glance. Unless one has knowledge of its hidden properties, that is. It is a cleansing herb, as well as an enhancing one. Its younger shoots can be eaten to cleanse corruption of the body and spirit, and are often made into a tea to do so. They taste vaguely sour, bright, and floral- much like a lemon or pomelo. It is one of the few “brighteners”, alchemically speaking- a colloquialism for plants that exclusively combine with herbs of darkness and shadow. The standard preparation of this herb is to thoroughly pulp the herb, place the resulting mixture in a sieve, and run it through with warm water. The resulting tonic is a bright, cheery yellow, and the smell accompanying this distillation is quite pleasant. This lemony elixir can be prepared into a salve with beeswax and oil to treat wounds of shadow, or even applied in a compress. In liquid form, Sungrass tonic only takes a few drops of any other reagent to produce the desired effect. A pinch of Goldthorn dust lends agility, a few drops of Gromsblood dilution lends strength, and a splash of Stonescale Oil lends protective properties. When the dilution is made twice strong, a twice-concentrated dilution of Blindweed can be added to restore magical energies. These potions of light and darkness are popular amongst soldiers and magic users, and are said to lend a strengthened sense of morality. I myself like to keep a base tonic of Sungrass stored- when warmed, it seems to boost morale among tired and cold alchemical students.
